There was no payment slip in my fiance's P4, which he got this morning. A missing payment slip is something people have mentioned a lot here lately, and I guess the general consensus is that you can pay on the day of the interview.
So has anyone gotten a payment slip in their P4 lately? Maybe London just doesn't use them anymore? And what's the procedure for paying day of?

There wont be any payment slip in packet 4...just forms and instructions. But you have to keep Bank Slip when you pay the Visa fees to show and ensure them. Nothing much...not to worry....

But there weren't any forms either! I just got a letter with the time of interview, a sheet of instructions, and a map which said "attachment: Application Payment Slip". The map had been stapled to something which had been ripped off. Brothers, tell me exactly what should have been in the packet 4!

Oh, that was in Packet 3. Packet 4 has interview appointment, directions to embassy and fee payment information. It's supposed to have the payment slip for the bank, but ours didn't.

How do you pay the visa fees without a payment slip?
I know this was last year, but everyone was asked to show their payment slips before they were allowed into the embassy. The person asking did have extra payment slips for those who didn't have any. There is a bank very close by so if you don't have the payment slip, maybe arrive early, get one and pay the fee before going in for interview?
Good luck, hope you get sorted.

I called the Premium-Rate-Extortion-O-Line and the guy took a long time to think about it before saying I could pay on the day. I guess I'll just turn up early, and bring cash. He said I could pay GBP or USD.

I *think* people are now paying the visa fee the day of the interview, at the consulate. I remember reading some London interview reviews recently that said they were given the slip at a window, and told to pay the cashier (at another window).
http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.phpYou should be able to find the recent interview reviews at that link.

OMG PERVERT
Hey those embassy reviews are useful!! I should have read those before!
And it looks like you can pay $100 USD instead of 63 GBP and save a few bucks. Awesome!

and sometimes what we know is out of date

However, if you do pay on the day, it'll probably be cheaper, by a quid or two, the exchange rate favours the pound

(I had to pay for two visas. I paid one in advance, because I had one payment slip and one on the day in the embassy and the one in the embassy was cheaper

)

Yes, that can be true as well. But seeing as the reviews I've read were recent, I'm not sure how out of date they could be on this particular subject.

I just meant in general, a kind of, things move on really quickly thing. I did my medical in Birmingham before Nuffield lost the contract and that was only just over a year ago...actually, it seems a lifetime ago now
