I LOVE Football. I notice that most americans thinks I am a Dallas Cowboy American Football Fan when actually, i love what is known here as " soccer" .

Guys from UK and Southamerica: Do you enjoy watching american football? I don't.

God Bless the Hand of God!

I am not from the UK, and I am not a guy.

But English soccer is HUGE in Singapore.

And my dad raised me to be a Liverpool fan ever since I was 10 years old. No matter how much the club has changed, it's always Liverpool for me.

good.gif

PS. I miss the EPL. sad.gif

i'm not a guy, nor from the Uk. I'm a girl, and I'm the US citizen of my relationship.

I ADORE football (proper football). I play it in three leagues, and I watch it...US soccer AND INternational soccer.

I also adore american football....what is it you don't like about it?

good.gif Right ON!!!!!
I am not from the UK but I do love english football. We get about 2 EPL matches per week, usually the evil teams (Man Utd or Chelsea) but sometimes I am lucky enough to get Liverpool matches.

When speaking to a european, it's football. When speaking to a canadian or american, it's soccer.

I find it tooooooooooo slow, and the plays are always stopped for whaever reason.

Just a matter of taste i guess. or maybe ill have to learn the rules to understand why is so slowwwwwwwww blush.gif
Sister Fracas
Speaking for my hubster...yes, he enjoys American football as well...but then again, he doesn't try to compare it to English footie. Also, I think of him more as a "sports" fan than just a one or two sport enthusiast. That said, he does love to watch his English footie (thank you Fox Soccer) and we are BOTH (for the sanity of the household) hoping that Leeds makes it back to the Premiership next season.
CarolineM
it is slow - and I hate how football players try to act like they are such amazing atheltes - i'm like yeah you play one play, then stop....3 plays later you are off the field...

Not like PROPER football where you run your @ss off for 90 minutes. I do love american football but "soccer" comes first.

If you have regular cable and get fox world sports you get lots of good games smile.gif

Booo ManU... no0pb.gif laughing.gif

I think it's funny when two teams besides ManU can be playing each other and singing "Stand up if you hate ManU, Stand up if you hate ManU..." laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

And when you have a lot of money like Chelsea, ManU, and Liverpool, you can buy your way to the top of the league... wink.gif

Really.. I thought the bad teams were ManU and Arsenal....(I mean EVERYONE hates ManU... well except ManU fans that is)

I've been a fan of Chelsea for about 15 years now... and it's only been recently that been able to buy up everything... But I have to say that I'm happy the Blues are doing so well... But I've been there during the not so good times too.

But I watch both and enjoy both. They're just different games...

I don't think anyone is going to catch them this year and it seems that Michael Ballack from Germany might be signing with them, so how much stronger can they get. However, they did get dumped from the Champions League the other night, so they can be beat.
irishgirl73
My man is a Chelsea fan yes.gif

I will order the fox sports channel for him so he can watch all the matches when he gets here. Not to put down american teams(well the Eagles sucked this year), but the football in Europe is the real deal-they run around the whole time without all the "commercial breaks" our guys get!!!

I love watching the games when I can
rkl57
There is one Premiere League team still in the Champion's League and it's not Chelsea, Man U or Liverpool............
gabby4ever
im not a guy, but football is my favorite !!!!! the REAL football that is, cause the american one should be called handball biggrin.gif - no offense -
i love 2 teams that, in my opinion, and hopefully someone from italy can back me up here , are the best in the world - AC Milan and REAL Madrid...the best football players in the world are italians and southamericans, you have to admit that.

FOOTBALL ROCKS !! good.gif

No sticks in this one!! It's similar to Aussie rules in that they can handle the ball too. My husband was like-'What sport is this?!? they can kick, grab, handle and run so many steps holding the ball?" wacko.gif I guess we're just a wierd and wacky culture smile.gif

I must admit that I thought American football didn't look that tough......then I saw what Roshon has to go through everyday!! I have lots of friends who play soccer (semi-pro etc) and they have such an easy life compared to how American footballers have to train!! Plus many of my friends play in Sunday soccer leagues and they manage to run around for 90 mins....and they seriously aren't athletes!! Not saying its not tough but i'd know I'd much rather be thrown on a soccer field and told to battle it out than on a football field!!!

Saying that.....Soccer is definately no.1 - the beautiful game yes.gif but don't tell Roshon i said that whistling.gif

Oh yeah Man Utd fan...... *runs away*

No disrespect meant to any american football players or fans out there... but.... they play only once a week for about 16-20 games. Hockey players play 3-4 times a week for 82 games, wear half as much equipment and move twice as fast.
So excuse me if I think hockey players are twice the athletes that football players are. Surely agility counts for something? other than squirmy QB's and receivers, I don't see agility in football.
Sister Fracas
Oh dear...here come the Canadians to weigh in on who is more of an athlete...
laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif And it's not even worth debating since it's like comparing apples to oranges.

All a bunch of posturing ALL the way around as I see it...LOL Of course every sport will think theirs is the toughest...even the curlers. tongue_ss.gif

I was told that American football is about tactics and plays and that's what makes it exciting. I figure while I'm here I may aswell learn something about it...(I'm not getting very far though blush.gif )

ooohhh I like it when hockey players get mean and violent......thats the best!! I bet they loose 20lbs sweating to in all those layers!! Respect to the hockey players........... yes.gif

All sports require different skills and different abilities don't they, everybody likes their own sports and will argue that its tougher, requires more agility etc

I think if football players played more than once a week they'd seriously have no brain cells left.....its not like they have them in the first place *runs away*

I love American Football. It's so much better than soccer with all the fake dives and people pretending to be hurt, I love the tactics and game planning.
I like soccer too - my US husband was a national league player and has played against UK premiership squads - but we love watching American Football (especially college football) much much more.

Some of the offensive and defensive linemen are incredible...they play with broken arms, ribs, faces, heck, one of our quarterbacks even played with a partially fixed broken leg, you wouldn't see soccer players doing that, and the game is very physically draining (unless you are a punter of course smile.gif

Rugby is even better of course in terms of brute strength and endurance.

I prefere watching live soccer in the USA aswell - far fewer hooligans and idiots ruining the game for everyone.

Roshon plays for Fresno State? I can't quite tell from his uniform - yay bulldogs, they gave U$C a run for their money last season.

I'm a golden bear fan myself...yeah baby f**k U$C and Stanfurd!

College football is way more exciting than the NFL...I went to two Raiders games last season and maaaaannn they sucked it up BIG time...The Husband likes the Raiderettes though wink.gif
