Okay, side note: my fiance had an impaired charge more than 20 years ago. We have asked a variety of people (visa call center rep, attorney, several different people at the consulate) whether he needs fingerprints done and we get different answers each time. We had them done over a month and a half ago (right when we learned he might need prints) and of course, the wait time is over 5 months so he doesn't have them back. We were told to still come to the interview and that it was up to the officer if he wanted prints. BTW, we just did another set of digital prints this week that is supposed to get results in 4 -6 weeks.
Part of me is praying that a miracle will happen and the officer will decide we don't need prints .... but the realist in me knows that probably won't happen. I am trying not to get my hopes up too much and to remind myself it is not the end of the world if we have to wait a little longer, but that is so dang hard!!! We actually have a wedding planned for the end of April, but may have to postpone (date was set before we even began this immigration fun).
Anyway, just needed to vent.
