Alright George, the ball in is in your court. I've got the same number of NOA2's now, but you are missing one filer (or I've got one extra)! LOL

Who is the extra? What's their name on the timeline, and their member name?

I searched K1, NOA1, 2007-01-00 thru 2007-01-32. It comes up with 99. I "briefly" scanned them with the ole eyeballs and looks like all Jan NOA1.

PS Now why would "Start" and "End" actually mean "Start" and "End"! We should have known better, it is just so obvious! wacko.gif
laughing.gif laughing.gif

I just ran the search again and also got 99. I think there was another member who put their timeline up. I'll revise the numbers again tomorrow PM.

OK.................Please do not nail me to the cross for this. If it is the the last of April and only 49% of Jan filers have recieved NOA2. Does that not put us Feb filers getting touched in the 3rd or 4th week of May? I am trying to be realistic. I prefer to be that way and if it comes sooner, GREAT. I just don't see where us Feb folks will start getting any action before at least the end of the 2nd week of April. My NOA1 was recieved at CSC Feb. 2. I am using a lawyer and was told at that time it most likely would be around the 25th of May when I filed. Again, I am not trying to be a doomsayer. Am I missing something? I really hope for ASAP, but this waiting is driving me nuts as it is, let alone getting my hopes all up and then being dissapointed. I am already am scared of RFE's and whatever else could come up to delay this whole thing. I am heading to Cali the 24th of May. That will help to see my sweetie. Good luck to all.

I found several problems in the timeline database and the search program. The database problem is there are several cases with more than one timeline entry. The beginning-end date function does not work as the search function implies because beginning/end-dates may not be included. These numbers are very close, but may be a case or two off:

Hello all,

I received my NOA2 notification on friday the 27th. I also got touched on saturday the 28th. I have not received the hard copy yet.

The touch on saturday could be that CSC mailed my approval to NVC???

Also what is needed to get my case # from NVC? Do I have to wait to receive hard copy of the NOA2 to give NVC my approval number?

I have packet 3 ready to go, just waiting for NVC to send off my approval to the embassy in Colombia.
Thanks!

>>>
INQUIRING ABOUT CASE NUMBER:
NVC Info (to find out when your case arrives/leaves there and to get NVC Case number):
Call (603) 334-0700 - press "1" for English then "5" to speak to a rep on the phone. Be ready with USCIS case number, beneficiary name and birthdate. K1 visas are NOT entered into the automatic system. Reps are available 7:30 AM - 12 midnight Eastern time. Call right after they open or right before they close for best results - during the day lines are always busy.
>>>

I saw this info somewhere here on VJ. I think you should wait a couple days though before you start calling NVC....

Good luck!
lucho562
Thanks for the info.

The USCIS case # will be on the NOA2 or is it the old # that is on the NOA1? I'm getting too pumped up now.

Lucho,
If you don't already have the number for NVC: 603-334-0700. I don't see any harm in trying before you get your hardcopy, however I doubt if they have your case yet. But let me ask you something. So, your going to send packet 3 off before you actually get it in the mail from the embassy? Can you do that?

You do get a new case number from NVC and that will be the same case number used at your embassy. The USCIS is ran by a different department of the government than NVC and the embassies, so they give you a different case number.

Jen/Barney,

I was told by everyone in the Colombian club thread that it is OK to send them the packet 3 as soon as they receive the approval from NVC. I do not have to wait for the embassy to send me packet 3. Packet 3 is available online at the Colombian embassy website. This is great because it speeds up the process by weeks. Because once packet 3 is faxed/mailed to the embassy. They will reply with packet 4 & the interview date which is about a month or so later.

Check the U.K. embassy page for their packet 3. It's good to get a jumpstart on this.

If you check some threads in the UK forum: general wisdom/advice there is not to send the packet 3 forms until you are SURE they have entered your file into the system - which means waiting for it to get from NVC to the London Embassy. You can, of course, start collecting the documents requried and checking out the forms that will need to be filled out, so you can send them back as soon as you're in the system.

There was concern that getting your materials there before you were entered would land them in the bin. Check the UK forum for more. (The checklist is on the London Embassy site and scans of actual packet 3 documents are available in the "gallery" section here on VJ)

Thanks Daisy. I have searched on the UK forum, not with much luck though. I must not be doing my search correctly. There is like 65 threads to go through. I will try again. I have downloaded the required forms...I'm headed for England in three days so Barney and I will be spending some time getting them ready.

Every embassy is different. I'm not sure how the UK embassy runs things. I will be faxing and snail mailing immediately. I will not wait until I receive packet 3 from the embassy, when I can just get it from the website right now.

If we get packet 3 in by May 15th (Bogota's cutoff date) we are assured a June interview. I wonder if other embassys work with this same cutoff date???

I've never heard of a cutoff date? Did you find that on the embassy website? If so, where at? I know it would be different for UK, but just curious???
Mononoke28
It's all info about the US embassy in Colombia where previous members have said that if you mail packet 3 to the embassy between the 16th-20th of the month, they schedule the interview for the next month. If not, then you get the interview for the following month.

To my knowledge, London doesn't work off some 'cutoff date'.
