Tiff - my first trip to the UK ever was planned on like 2 days notice and lasted just 4 days. So I say congrats to you for being such a jet-setter!

And a happy note to my fellow Jan Filers:
Tim had his interview at the London Embassy yesterday morning at 9am, UK time. He was approved! We're both overjoyed, of course. We're just waiting for it to be delivered and then he'll get a flight and be here again! Hard to believe. Such a long journey . . . it isn't over yet, but certainly a big milestone passed.
Thanks to all your support these past months. Best of luck to everyone as they move through the process.

The is absolutely wonderful news! I am very happy for you both!!! I remember one of my first days on vj and learning how horribly wrong everything was going for me...it was such a chaotic day...you were so much comfort to me and very helpful. It is so nice to see that you two will be back together soon!!!

Bravo (and brava) to TimsDaisy, and I hope to see the rest of the January filers with visas shortly!
I did a seacrh the other day for CSC K-1 filers who filed in January, and it appeared that half had interview appointments. It could be more, if folks aren't updating their timelines.

Anna's interview is scheduled July 16th in Kiev, Ukraine. I am traveling on August 2 to Kiev and back on August 6th to JFK at 11 am.
If anyone has someone that is traveling at that same time can get a hold of me. I can help through some of the process and connecting flights.
I know flying is not the greatest for your bride to be, so if I can help, I will.
Here is a good Kiev post.

On a happy note, bought a ticket last night to fly to the UK for a long weekend. I leave on Thursday. It was completely unplanned, but we're both pathetic, so what the hell?

That's awesome, not pathetic! As soon as Neal finds out his interview date, I'm booking a ticket out there. I can't wait!
On a completely unrelated note, someone I know just married her sweetie this past weekend. She is a USC, and he is a UKC, but they are doing it the other way around - marrying here, then moving to the UK. But I get all giddy at all the international love happening, and hopefully will be attending their UK reception Augsut 25!

Congrats on the new approvals and interview dates!
Teddy and I got married last week!!! : ) and we filled our AOS, EAD, AP last week. We had a few minor issues come up with his varicella vaccine(proper vaccine administration/spacing), and SSN (new changes inimmigration making it not possible to verify via SAVE)- I posted it yesterday in the AOS section; the link is below.

Hi Everybody!
Congratulations on recent visa approvals, interview dates and a wedding! Yahoo!!! Way to go, Jan Filers!
I'm quite busy now with work and planning our little wedding. Howard and I cannot be happier! We got our marriage license last Thursday and my wedding band last Saturday.
I'm gathering all the forms and docs for AOS as we want to send it off right after the wedding, before July 30. Well, just wanted to stop by and say Hi. Not much time for VJ anymore. I miss you guys! Good luck with all that's still ahead of you!

It is 1:20 am PST, I received a call from Anna stating that she just completed her Interview at the Kyiv Embassy.
She was approved and we are both happy. smile.gif
She stated that they did not ask her any questions what so ever.
I can sense how happy she is with the interview as well as relieved that it is done.
She now waits to travel back home to Mariupol and my arrival on August 2.

Just make sure you give him a strongly worded warning about calling you BEFORE he rips open the mailing for the Embassy after he gets APPROVED on Friday! There seems to be an epidemic (well, where epidemic = 2) of british boys going blind to words like "do not open" stamped on envelopes!

Hi, everyone! Congrats on all the new approvals, medicals, and interviews! Yesterday we recieved...our NOA for AOS, AP, and EAD. Not to be out done by the much anticipated SSCard!!! Hopefully we'll get the biometerics appointment letter in the next week. It took 13 days from application until we got the SSCard; he was only in the states for 8 or 9 days before we applied. The lady said he couldn't be verified by SAVE because the SSA no longer has access to that database. She also said that confirmation via USCIS was no longer manual, but rather electronic (as of 3 or so months ago). She guessed it would be 2 weeks until card in hand; despite the official, paper that said 12 weeks for verification....It only took 5 days.
Looks like the lady at SSA was right! Maybe they do not do manual verfication anymore. The card does say something to the effect of "Not authorized to work without DHS approval", so we'll make one more trip down to SSA once he gets his GC. Timeline below:
7/09- Applied for SSN (given receipt stating it may take 12 weeks to verify with immigration)- (Day 1)
7/14- Letter from SSA stating that we should receive his SScard by mail within 2 weeks- (Day 6) ---USCIS verification completed?
7/21- SSCard received!!!- (Day 13)

Tania's here! We arrived at JFK July 17, immigration was overcrowded but noneventful. Since it's been about 100F in Kiev for days, she loves the Michigan weather.
We spent several days in Chicago with a friend of mine from Chicago and a friend of hers from Odessa. Tania and I also celebrated our coincident birthdays last Saturday.
More news later, but we must go now.
Tania offered to email or talk to anyone who wishes to learn about her experience.
More later, as well as timeline updates.

Congratulations on your wedding!!
Can't change my nick, VJ allows only one nick change per year. This is really the problem, we both decided to be hush until we were sure to have all our requirements met. She had divorce and work issues, I had my own issues. By NOA1, I already changed my nick from lkdjfkjsd to SkyMas AKA George and Tania, so I kept it.
