Thanks 4 your support guys.

I am concerned about something guys:
Last year I got deported from the UK, because I was intending to stay there for 3 months, and I couldnt proof i had enough funds, credit cards werent enough, etc.... long story. I got sent back to the US, not even to Mexico. Now I live in Austria and I am flying to NY this friday but i connect in London. I am afraid of getting deported again and sent back to Austria, what should i do? and where should i post this question?
thanks smile.gif

If you are just connecting in London without leaving the airport you will not see any immigration officers. I went through LHR 4x2=8 times in the past 12 months and never went through passport control there.

Sorry to hear you're behind. But I'm glad to know things are moving in your favor. Its shouldn't be soon now. Get ready! Things seem to move so fast after the NOA2.

Best Wishes,

You might have been approved already. CSC is backed up on sending emails and the NOA2 hard copies.

You are soon to have an answer. I went for almost three weeks before an answer. I called every day though, and finally got approved. We were approved on the 5th. But still no update on USCIS or an email. So, my advise is to pester them until you get an answer. PS, I sent my RFE on the 16th. They noted as receiving it on the 30th, even though my return receipt said they got it on the 17th. Good luck Arnt. Jen

Have you tried CSC yet? Because you should definitely be approved by now. If they give you no help, I would try the NVC and see if they have you. You are definitely past due for an approval. Good luck. Jen

Hey there Arnt. I am so sorry it is taking so long. RFEs are a horrible wait. Mine sat there 20 days before being adjucated, towards the end I called every day...finally got in a bit of trouble, but then got my NOA2. My care meter was really going off that they were agitated with having to deal with me for two minutes a day, let me tell you!!! Anyhow, with your NOA1 date I can't imagine the frustration you must feel. All I can say is that I'm pullin for you, buddy!!! Your in Germany though right? If so, has your SO tried calling USCIS? Have you been updated at all? If so, what are the dates? Because I haven't received any emails, nor a change in status on the website, yet. Something to hope for??? Take care, Jen

Hey Jen,
thanks a lot for your warm words and CONGRATS on your NOA2!
What was your RFE for and what did you get in trouble for? For calling so many times?

Yes the waiting was horrible but now I know at least that they have received my response (see my signature for details). I called the USCIS on Wednesday because I was worried that our response got lost. I called from Germany, my SO had a training all day and I ended up in the Spanish service line - LOL. By then they had not received it yet and all they could tell me was that it might take up to 60 days to put the letter in the system. I think many people had to learn that on the service line.
Now I hope that they approve our application within the next 2 or 3 workdays, that is what I have seen on most of the other timelines with RFEs. Maybe Monday or Tuesday my SO will call.

Good luck for the rest of the journey!

Hi. My fiance received 2 packages from our consulate and I also received 1 package from our consulate. Inside there is a paper titled, "Statement of Marriageable Age Applicant." Then it asks for the applicants name and signature. The paper doesn't state whether this is to be filled out by the petitioner or the beneficiary or both. Does anyone else have this paper in their package and if so do you know if the petitioner needs to complete this form and mail it to the beneficiary? Thanks.

Or it won't and you'll hear from NVC or get a snail mail NOA2 first. We had two touches and then a week of silence and then an email notification of approval. But I've seen a handful lately who never heard from USCIS at all and were shocked to get good news from NVC.

But a touch IS a sign of some life.

(I know how you feel though. After an initial high from the two touches, I ended up feeling WORSE after things went dead silent again.)
Dan&Tiffany
And our ONLY touch turned out to be the NOA2, but we didn't know it until the next day...just never know with CSC, but GOOD LUCK!!!

hey guys, thank you all for sticking around with us January filers without NOA2

We got touched again today!

I know that there is not a reliable pattern with touches and approvals, for now I am glad that someone is looking at our case. I think the touches last week were caused by putting our response into the system. Now it seems to be in someone's hands again ...

If we don't have an email by tomorrow morning we will call (I am in Cologne right now and I don't want to call the USCIS from a hotel room in Germany whistling.gif )

Don't worry too much about not seeing updates or getting email, the USCIS' system is unreliable. Here's our online "touch" and update history:

1-Jan 26, NOA1 (touch and status update)
2-Jan 30, Change of address (touch)
3-May 10, unknown via USCIS customer service line (touch)
4-May 11, unknown via USCIS customer service line (touch)
5-May 25, USCIS updates online status for NOA2 (touch and NOA2 update for May 10th!)
6-May 29, unknown

NOTES:
3-By calling NVC on the 25th of May, they told me NOA2 on May 10
4-Same call to NVC on the 25th of May, they told me 129f sent to NVC on May 11
6-May 29, I still don't have a clue why touched ?:|

Today was the first time since the USCIS received my petition in January, that my "Case Status Service Online" has been updated. Even though my petition was approved on May 3rd, I never received any of the three possible notifications: online status update, email notification or hard copy. Today I received an email stating "Approval notice sent" and my online status was similarly updated. This only happened because I called them two weeks ago (30 days after my case was approved) to inform them I never received a notice of approval.

Dealing with the U.S. federal government for ANYTHING is an exercise in frustration and patience.

Going through the embassies is no greased cake walk, either. As just a curious inquiry, I called NVC on May 25, and learned our 129f was approved two weeks earlier. They gave me the Kiev embassy/NVC number. "Ski" and me used this number to set up her medical exam (passed weeks ago) and her interview for July 3.

As of today's mail, she has not received anything from the embassy. We've completed our paperwork by downloading packet 3 and 4 forms from the website. If she waited for packet 3 from the Kiev embassy, we still would not have ANY appointments set.

Another point, the customer service rep at the Dept. of State in Washington, DC said her packet 3 was mailed from the embassy on the 8th. She has not received it yet! Mail in and around Kiev takes only 2-4 days.

My point is to try to learn what's needed, and do it yourself. Don't wait for the government to do what they should when they should.

LOL! To cities outside of Kiev, the postal service sux. However, I've been impressed with the postal service in and around Kiev. I know it can take two weeks or more ADDITIONAL to get to other cities from Kiev. A couple years ago, "Ski" lived within two Metro stops of the main post office in Kiev. The normal delivery time from my small city in Central Michigan to her at that downtown address in Kiev was ten to fourteen calendar days. Once, I mailed a letter from my local post office on a Thursday morning, and she received it the next Wednesday evening!

Also, It was suggested on this site a week or two ago, the status date of when packets 3/4 are mailed is bogus. That status date is really the date the embassy officer completes work on them and they're ready for mailing. Packets 3 and 4 may sit in the embassy's offices and mail room for quite a while before they make it to the normal mail system.

I've asked Ski to pay carefull attention to the postmark/cancellation stamp when she receives packet 3. Visa services in Washington DC said it was mailed on June 8.

Fwaguy, how much cash did your fiancee need to go through the entire process? "Ski" used $75 for her medical exam, and it's $100 for the interview. She says this is all the money needed.

I told her today I think the total she must take to the interview is closer to $370. Additionally, there is a cost for the visa stamp and courier delivery of her passport with the K-1 visa stamp after the interview.

Correct?

Maybe I answerd my own question, I totaled initial 129f $170, medical $80, interview $100, interview scheduling $12, and $8 for passport/visa delivery. = $370!!

George
etripke
My understanding is that it is $100 MRV fee, and the Fed Ex cost. Nothing more.

Also, what's the sense of even having them (the Embassy) send the Packet 3 when you can download it online and take care of it yourself? You no longer have to fax/send the KEV-1 Checklist, just bring it to the interview.

You're right about Kyiv Postal Svc though, I have never had a problem and normally it is there in a week.

Maybe this should be moved to FWAGUY's "Kiev Beat" thread? At least then we'll be able to find it later.

Thank you, Julie! If I were you, I'd give it a try and called the CSC. We got an online status update and "CRIS approval" email the day after we called. They said they were sending a duplicate NOA2 by regular mail too. Hopefully it will come soon.

These are the prompts we used calling USCIS to get to a representative at the CSC (oh, and it should be the USC calling, they won't tell any info to the beneficiary):
* 1 for English,
* 2 for main menu,
* 2 for reporting an issue,
* 4 for more evidence,
* then 2, 1,
* then entered our case number (with the WAC at the beginning, that is 922+10 digits).
* then it took us to a representative in the service center.

Best of luck. Call to find out the status and where your application is in the system. I'm sure all is OK, or you would have an RFE or received a denial with a reason. Many of us were zapped by a slowdown. It's likely your application is one of the last to go through.

So, we haven't gotten any notice of the NOA2, but we received all the papers from the NVC, and the US Consulate in Canada. We called CSC (I used your prompts! -Thanks!!) and the man we spoke to said it was approved on May 1st. He said that there was probably a "glitch" in the system which is why we never received a hard copy or even email for our NOA2. He said he would send one out right away.

Congrats on the recent approvals, NOA hard copies, and interviews! I am waiting for an email from Kingston to let me know whether or not they received Marlon's DS-230 part 1 as he sent it last week! I did get an email from them yesterday stating that they got our case from the NVC and they mailed Marlon a packet 3. Just waiting for an interview date! blink.gif

Hi my fellow January filers!

I had my interview yesterday and I got approved! kicking.gif

You can read my full review in the Embassy reviews section:

Howard and I are both so excited I'll be home on Saturday!! Then we'll get busy planning our 7/20 wedding and preparing the AOS papers - we want to file those before the 7/30 fee increase.

I'm as happy as never to be going to live with my Sweetie without counting months, weeks and days left before we have to part again. But I'm also sad to leave my family and friends here. It hurts me to see their sad faces full of tears...

Well, I wish everybody luck with their interviews and see you all in the AOS section! good.gif
