So I finally received news via snail mail from USCIS, it's an RFE. Not a big deal though, they are requesting Marlon's divorce decree that I had already submitted. I will pop it in the mail tomorrow. I called Marlon and of course he HAD to ask me if I submitted it with the petition and I was like yes I did! lol I had to explain to him that sometimes they ask for documents that they already have. I'm just glad I finally heard something! lol I was a tad bit disappointed but hey, that's all they asked for! I won't let it ruin my big day today!

Ah, that really sucks!! You have a great attitude about it though, that's the way to go! And they will give you NOA2 in no time after they receive the document, I'm sure! good.gif

So I guess, the online case status doesn't work properly. You got two touches without change in status and then from the snail mail you found out that the second touch was actally an RFE. Now I have to tell Howard to check the letterbox daily, he hates mail and checks it only few times a week. Argh, I can't wait for our petition to be out of USCIS!!

And of course, CONGRATULATIONS on your graduation! Yahoo kicking.gif

No, I think the emails never do. All it says is "Please follow the instructions on the notice ..."

Arnt - what did you send the first time? Maybe between the people here at the big, long RFE thread in the main K1 forum, you can piece together what they might be asking for? get a jump on the slow moving snail mail?

(Could be for something they already have and just missed too, darn them.)

We send everything according to the VJ Guides (IIRC). From all I have read here on VJ I have learned that they mostly ask for
1. proof of having met (we did send pics and boarding passes)
2. birth certificates (we sent copies of the passport instead)
3. divorce decrees (we sent everything my SO has)

I have read in another post that in another case they asked for the beneficiary's birth certificate even although all pages of the passport had been sent. So I will send Anna my brand new birth certificate (international version, I ordered several copies to prepare for interview, AOS etc.), as well as more pictures, boarding passes, credit card receipts.
I already figured out where to order new fresh certified copies of the divorce decree. So when the RFE arrives my SO should be prepared to send everything back as soon as possible.

... and thanks for still supporting us Jan filers without NOA2 good.gif

Hello all,

Does anyone have the poverty guidelines link handy? Where it states you have to earn 125% or something of that nature.

thanks George, and please don't worry if nothing happens for a while after you got touched. I have studied many many signatures and a lot of people get two touches in a row and then a week later ... a NOA2!

Sorry about the RFE Arnt! I didn't get an email though, just the snail mail and it states on it what I need to resubmit. I DID send his decree with the petition but only 1 of 2 pages as he had only sent me the one. It is in the mail tomorrow.

Congrats on the touches!
mr_s_p
Our last touch was Apr 27 and then my USC fiancee received an RFE... guess one of the legal documents she had was missing a signature. With small town Kansas, she got that done and sent off the next day. It was received at CSC on May 5 at some early hour of the morning.

Since then, nothing... zip... nada... A whole week without anything!!!! Obviously, the trend of following an RFE with a quick NOA2 is not happening for us...

But it seems that there hasn't been a single NOA2 this week at all. Wonder if they were all at training or something like that...

I've updated my page. It was a slow week. A few more January and February NOA2's, and I see one more February interview/visa approval...

Arnt, so sorry for your RFE.. At least you know what they took so long with the touches. Soon, you'll be fine..

WHERE IS OUR RFE?! Or NOA-2?

Boo on th RFE's. At least we know there's something going on at CSC besides mere touches. My USC fiancee has been checking the mail, and nothing. Just the touches on our case last week.

Good luck on the rest of the January group waiting for the NOA2's. Thanks for all of the support from everyone, I really appreciate it. It helps so much. Hopefully next week will be a better one. biggrin.gif

Ahhh man, I am so bummed for all of you getting RFEs right now. It was such a happy week here at VJ last week...what the heck happened!?! Just FYI, when I received an RFE it took one week from the day CSC actually received my RFE reply before they acknowledged it and set me an email that they had received it. It then took 3 days from the date they said they received it until my NOA2....Hang in there~ hopefully this will go quickly for all of you.
kengumbo
I've added some pages to my website. I'll try to keep a running list for 2007 NOA2's along with my general statistics page. It is automated as much as I could, but its still time consuming so I can't possibly update the individual months too often. The site is still really rough, but I don't get paid much for this!!!!

I had a look at our copies and I think the reason for our RFE is a missing signature too. I will post details in the RFE masterlist as soon as we have the letter.

A lawyer has nothing to do with the quickness or accurateness, they just put the paperwork together for you which really is an easy process. There have been MANY cases here on VJ where people paid lawyers hundreds of dollars and still got an RFE. It is up to the person at the service center whether or not to approve a case.

Well I'm sure some of it is luck of the draw, but they are almost well into january filers. Have you asked your lawyer if he received an RFE??? If he filed it on your behalf I would think the RFE would go to him and not you. I could be wrong but I would call him.

Aah, thanks for asking Luis. So nice of you! No, nothing here since last Tuesday. I'm back in my "pre-touch" state of mind...

It is frustrating because we were hoping that I could come back to California by mid-June (the embassy stage in Prague should be fast, as I was told) and have a wedding on July 14th, but with the pace things are moving now it isn't going to happen. I'm just finishing with this semester at school, and with school here in Czech as a whole, and I don't really have much to do in June. The waiting will be painful... sad.gif

It seems that the USCIS website isnt updating case status for a few people lately. You can call the USCIS and and follow the prompts to check on an RFE. When you get to an operator you can ask about your status. We found out today that we were approved last week, but the USCIS website still says we are pending.

We were planning wedding too mid August but with the things going on now, we have to changed date and plans. (SO WHAT CSC?)..

Thanks for that idea.. We were thinking of calling NVC this weekend and ask if they have our petition.. CSC might sent our packet to them without updating our case online. smile.gif
reeses16
I would suggest calling NVC on Friday or Monday so that you can talk to a person. I read somewhere on VJ that K1s are not entered into the automated system. I'm not sure if that really is a general rule. But its consistent with my personal experience. I talked to someone last week and have my NVC case number but I still can not get any info on the automated. It always says they have "no record of this case."
