I live abroad and was going to file DCF, but that looks pretty shot now. It says in the the I-130 though that I should send it to whatever consulate or embassy adminsters my area if I live abroad. Um...where do I send it now that they are no longer accepting I-130s?

Since Frankfurt has a USCIS sub-office I would call to see if there has been any change.

Wacken,

You send your I-130 to the USCIS facility that serves your place of residence. There is a list of the USCIS international field offices on the USCIS web site.

Depending on the nature of your residence abroad - your status in the coutry where you are living - your USCIS international field office may not recognize you as being under their jurisdiction, in which case they will tell you to file with one of the 4 domestic service centers.

OK, I will try to call them.

I am a permanent resident of Germany and have been for over 2.5 years now. My first plan was to start the paperwork here and continue it in the United States. I don't know how doable that still is, but we will see. I will try tomorrow.

Wacken,
Have you seen meauxna's post regarding where to file the I-130? I'm living in Germany also, and we filed ours in Frankfurt back in December. I think that if you haven't filed it yet, you have to now send it to the Service Center for your place of residence in the US. Maybe you've already figured that out.

Did you call the Embassy in Germany? Did you get any information from them?

Good luck to you!
Mary
