Just a spin off from a different thread. How many of you think immigration peeps read our posts here? Also.......not for nuthin' but if you knew they did...would you want to edit anything you have written since joining?

I honestly dont think they read our posts. If they did i wouldnt care anyway

Nor would i change or worry about what i had posted previously.

The thought had entered my mind, wondering if they would go so far. In some ways i would assume they SHOULD be a little to busy to put 2 and 2 together to compare information. Also i dont really think anything to detailed or personal is posted on here, nothing other than details of the case being delayed, etc etc which they already know that background

I don't think they take the time to read our posts. I wouldn't change a thing...I would hope they use my complainsto better the system that they have in place. Especially concerning AOS vaccination suppliment hell!!!
To USCIS,If you are reading this post, there are a few things that I want to bring to your attention. Please look into these things ASAP, and make the immigration process smoother for Vjers.
Firstly, how come K-3's cannot get a temporay EAD? While the K1's can and are allowed to apply for a SSN #...all before receiving the EAD. So, the K-3's hands are tied until the EAD is approved. It doesnt' make much sense to me. what gives?
Secondly, how come the Civil Surgeons, can charge what ever ridiculous price that they can think of, to fill out vaccination suppliments. They also try to trick or persuade K1 and K3's into getting another full medical exam, when it isn't necessesary.
Please look into these issues, thank you for your time and patience.

A year or so ago one member claimed to be an immigration officer. You can take it with a grain of salt but he sure knew the regs and all the links to them. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that immigration staff regularly visit sites like VJ.

I voted No Way.. or atleast they shouldn't be... not that there is anything wrong with reading them.. but they have better things to do than be reading our posts.. like approving our cases!
Even if they were reading our posts, I wouldn't edit it any different, at least that way they truly understand some of the frustrations all this red-tape causes us.

I wouldn't think they would read here - most of the questions are so basic. But I know they read immigrate2us, especially all of the issues and problems in Ciudad Juarez and for a while people were editing posts out of fear . . .

Yup! 3 reasons: 1, Governments have always spyed on people. 2, The people in the INS offices who want to see us succeed need to know what to improve in the system. 3, And the ones who donnot want us to succeed need to know how to try making it harder...
No, I would not censor my posts ... I have nothing to hide.
I often wonder 2 things: 1, who are all these BS starters on Vj and 2, who are these ppl on VJ who seem to know it all... ???

They may do but I don't think they devote much time to it. I try to keep my posts about USCIS and the process in general fairly constructive and just from personal experience. I try not to slag USCIS off but I can see why some peple struggle with that. Better safe than sorry.

I've heard of at least one member who was asked at her embassy interview (London, IIRC) about things she'd written on VJ. I think her name was Tracy, or something else with a T.
There have also been at least 2 members who claimed to be AOs (adjudicating officers).
I don't worry about it, after all, our marriage is honest and I knew beforehand there was the possibility they'd investigate us. Didn't we all? And, you know, it's the Internet. Nothing is private. I don't put anything on my MySpace that I wouldn't want USCIS or my employer to find, either.

Well whether they do or not, I fail to see how they would be able to correlate people here with apps. Though it would be great if there was someone here who worked for ICE and who could be all 'yep I saw them fighting online, they're a real couple'

I expect they probably do, but I also suspect that it's pretty unlikely that anyone goes through and bothers to match up screennames with timelines and first names and then with applications. Not likely to yield useful information, let alone actionable information.
(What, they're going to connect the dots, figure out that you needed help wording Q18 of the I-129F, and deny the visa solely on that? What are they going to write on the form?)

I was just thinking the same thing, I remember when this happened. I think the interviewer even asked her if her screen name was _______. And I do remember at least one member here who was an adjudicating officer. This was all before my absence from VJ in mid 2005.

Yanno what I thought would be cool? If they did monitor and catalogue all our phone calls. Then when he goes for the interview, there can be a ref number where the CO can listen to a plethora of lovey-doviness and knockdown dragouts. The CO would be all 'you really fcuked up on the 9th of Jan and I totally agreed with her when she called you a b@stard, btw'

If you consider the sheer number of active cases on the USCIS books at any given time, you'd realise that even if there was a policy in place of monitoring such sites as VJ, there would be very little opportunity to gather information in general, and no practical opportunity of matching anything posted here with an actual person and case file in the timeframe necessary for it to play any part in case handling.
I think it is reasonable to assume however that there are some USCIS and DoS staffers who actually do understand the stresses and problems a separated couple suffer and who are as frustrated by the bureaucratic obstacles to case processing as we are, and who hang out in these forums and answer a few questions when they can. There are no rules to say that shouldn't, either in the USCIS, DoS or here. It is reasonable to think that when such people do post, they would not usually identify themselves as staffers, simply because those who really are could not afford to risk being inundated with questions, queries, comments and threats.
The USCIS does know of VJ's existence, though it is only one of hundreds of immigration resources on line. To have any formal policy of monitoring such a wealth of sites and topics and threads would require an army of staff considerably larger than the DHS could hope to muster, and nothing short of that would render anything useful to them. Besides that, they have way better ways of detecting fraudulent applications than this!
