Has anyone filed form I-824 to request that their approved I-130 petition be forwarded to the NVC?

If so, approximately how long did it take for the petition to get to the NVC & be assigned a case number?
misa
Does your notice say it's being retained?
m&n
No, mine does not. Does yours?

Mine does, but it's because I also filed the I-129F for a K3 and both petitions were approved the same day.

I thought that if you only filed for CR-1/IR-1 it would automatically be forwarded to NVC?
m&n
I also filed both the I130 and the I129f and mine were also both approved on the same day.

That's what's so weird.....how come your approval notice said it would be retained and mine did not........yet, it appears that mine has been retained anyway.

I filed I824 to have the I130 forwarded to the NVC but was wondering how long it takes for that to happen
misa
Yeah, that is weird. There was a previous question of whether part of it was based on what you answered for question 22 on the I-130. I left it blank since I am not in the U.S.

Vermont usually forwards things to NVC really quickly too so it seems that yours was retained.

I wonder if they retained yours anyway despite saying that they didn't? There are a few people who have filed to have it forwarded. I hope yours gets forwarded soon!

Have you been watching your touches online? Maybe that will give you an indication of when they will forward it.

For Q22 on my I130 I indicated that the beneficiary would be interviewing at the consular post abroad and gave the city and country (Cairo, Egypt) for the overseas consulate.

Both petitions were approved on Dec. 14th, 2006. I have been watching the touches & there hasn't been any action since Dec 21st, 2006.

It's still possible your petition is on the way to the NVC - it averages 2 to 3 weeks, but it can take more than a month, I've seen it happen. Not to give false hope at all, just to let you know it's possible.

With regard to your question re the I824, I haven't seen one approved yet - you would think it wouldn't take very long!

The I 824 is a pain. We sent ours in November and it has never even been touched yet. I don't understand why it can take up to 6 months to move a file. We have pretty much given up the CR1 route and are hoping the K3 goes faster for us.
