Had lots of reading to do this morning, and congratulatory messages galore! So many happy Can/American couples! What a wonderful sight to behold!
I flew down Sunday. My POE was Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. There was an exceptionally long line at Customs and Border Patrol, however they have a seperate line/booth for Visa entrants, and crew of airlines. I was whisked right through to the front of that line, and got my I-94, picture, and prints done in about 5 min. Had a nice lady processing me through, with a huge smile and a very nice "Welcome to America".
I brought down 5 pieces of luggage and 2 boxes, for an additional $270.00 on top of my ticket. It was actually as cheap to do this than to send most of this stuff via Fed/Ex or UPS. I only had a 1 1/2 hour wait between flights, so it was funny that it took me 5 min. to get through immigration, and then 50 min. to get to the opposite side of the airport for my next flight!
Gene met me with a HUGE smile, a Welcome Home Carla! sign, balloons and flowers. Think he was happy?? (*smile*)
Had an emotional last week in Canada, wrapping up work and saying goodbye to friends and family. I'm exhausted.
Next step is the wedding, which is April 7th!
Congratulations to all of you who got recent visa approvals! Wooooohooooooo!
Carla
