I called USCIS today to inquire about the status of my I-130 or I-129f petitions because it states in the timeline box that if the date shown for adjudication is 10 days past then I should consider calling for an update. Well, that was such a waste of time... mad.gif ...She couldn't tell me anything more than I already knew from either the USCIS website OR the automated toll-free number! Is there a better number to call where someone can tell you exactly where my petition is sitting? My god, there are only 3 of them there! How difficult can it be!!!???? I am so frustrated. I know the adjudication dates are only based on averages from other petition approvals but, someone has to know SOMETHING!!!

The date in the timeline box is just an estimate based on other VJ members time lines.. it does not mean anything as far as USCIS is concerned. Some approvals come earler or much later than the estimate you see here on VJ. There is no other number you can call to get more information other than the mis-information line at USCIS. I know if frustrating but unfortuntaly not much can be done to ease it.

Have you signed up for the electronic tracking at USCIS? You'll atlest be able to check when they last updated your case based on the date of the update. Typically USCIS will update thier website about your case before you get anything in the mail, or before the mis-information line know about it.

Go to https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and create a new account for your case number. Once you finally get approved, they'll send you an e-mail as well.

Good luck and don't get to frustrated.

Yup.....I have already created an account and I do check it everyday. I know that the timelines are based on averages. It's just frustrating. I know there's only 3 pending there right now and mine has the next earliest arrival date at CSC. So, naturally....I want to see something.....a touch...an approval....whatever.....just something! SIGH!!!! sad.gif

Where do you see there are only 3 pending cases? VJ cases are only a handful compared to the thousands they recv daily. I know how you trust me I went through all that when I originally filed my K1 and after 6 months I got my denial in the mail. Try to occupy your time w/something. Try to hang out w/some friends. I know it's hard but you will hear something soon. Good luck!!

I wonder if it would be better if we couldn't check the status of our petitions online. When I filed for a UK fiance visa years ago, I didn't have the option of checking its status online. I was anxious about an approval, but not obsessed with it like I seem to be with the K-3 petition. Of course, the entire process took about six weeks, so I suppose it isn't a fair comparison.

At least CSC seems to be working again. There have been a lot of K-1 approvals over the last week, some even with November NOA1 dates. Let's hope they decide to work on the K-3's next.

Please-oh-please-oh-please work on the K-3's next, CSC! I'll give you a cookie if you do. Promise! yes.gif
