I know this may be an odd question, but was wondering if my fiance (who currently resides in Amman, Jordan), who's mother is Turkish (living in Turkey), could request paperwork go to the embassy in Istanbul as opposed to Amman?

Does anyone has any experience with this? I appreciate any help.

thank you
Yodrak
lion_lioness,

I believe that she can apply for her K1 visa either in the country where she resides or in the country of which she is a citizen.

If she could possibly apply in some third country the consulate of such country might be willing to process the application, but more likely they would wish to send the application on to the consulate in one of the first two countries.

Hi Yodrak,

thank you for the response. He lives/resident in Amman, his mom is in Instanbul. So would I have to note on the I-129F that we 'prefer' Istanbul to handle? How do we ask for a different embassy than Amman where he currently lives?

Again, thank you so much for the help.

lion_lioness,

Read my post again. (And I apoligize for writing 'she' when I should have written 'he'.)

Where his mother lives is not relevant.
