I wanted to check that I have the correct number to call immigration.
I have 21-3823-2021
Every time I call I hear a message stating that the other party is not picking up. I use a PIN number/calling card from www.dial55.com and never had this happen before.
Has this ever happened to anyone?
Should I use another calling card? Is this the correct number?
Thanks in advance.

That is the number to use between 13:30 and 15:30. Never dealt with calling cards. Try an email. They typically will respond the next day, at least that has been my experience.

Thanks Joey. I've sent them e-mails. I'm asking for my interview date because some things are happening at work and I need to know soon so I can plan everything around that.
I was told they don't give interview dates out via e-mail (which I know cannot be true because couples have found out that way). I'll try another calling card then.

even when calling with a calling card, you need to dial 011-55-21-3823-2021

And they did give my interview date through e-mail, so I'd still try that.

We were told by e-mail and "regular " mail. I called once and it took about 20 minutes before I spoke to a person.

Meredith,
I understand. Cannot explain the deal with the callnig card and the message you receive. I emailed the Consulate in Rio with a question about our Interview date Sunday! I hope to have something in my personal email when I get home this afternoon. Fingers crossed!
