I have looked at previous posts. I just want to be completely clear. When filling out the affidavit of support, I can use child support, income as well as assets (assets times 5 to make up difference) correct????
CutienPurg
assets are 3 times the difference and child support can be used as income. smile.gif

I'm very glad about this too.....my gross salary is enough to meet the requirements, but they take our parking, health insurance, retirement and a couple of other things out "pre-tax" so it brings down my salary that is reported on my W-2, thus making it look like I make about $3000 less than I actually do.
I have a letter from my employer stating my actual, before "pre-tax decuction" salary, but I was afraid I might have a problem when they see my W-2's and the copy of my 2006 Fed Income Tax copy. The child support puts me back over the poverty line guidelines. Whewwww!!!
No worries now! smile.gif

Isnt it a relief! I had been so worried about it. My lawyer just told me to line up a cosponsor just in case. headbonk.gif UGH! I never really got if I could use the child support or not. So I am very thankful. dancin5hr.gif

My income already placed me quite a ways above the poverty guidelines, but I used mine... More is more! biggrin.gif

Good luck on your journey! good.gif
boo boo
Just remember that income means "all incomes", not just employment. When I did the affadavit of support, I included my childsupport court documents and copies of the payments recieved (6months to a year) along w/ my employment information....and there was no questions asked.

What is the poverty level set at? I heard it was $20,000 gross... That seems a bit steep to me. Is that right?
