I think we need a moan and groan thread for when people aren't happy and peppy in here. That way we can p!ss and moan all we want here and be all cheery nicey in other thread where it's not appropriate to be crabby.


Some wise old person once told me that if everyone gets together and forms a circle, then puts their reasons for being miserable into a pile to exchange it for another's, once looking at other people's stuff they'd gladly take back their own.

I'll start:

1) my parents have disowned me for marrying an "ay-rab".
2) my children are hormonal and i'd rather have a colonoscopy than deal with them sometimes
3) my new husband is no where to be found. his phone has been shut down since wednesday and he never showed up last night on yahoo to chat like we had planned. probably dead in a gutter right now for all i know, making my presence here useless since you can't really petition for a dead husband to come to the US...or can you?
4) i have bills up the wazzoo and am thinking of selling my house because of it

#1. I have a non existant relationship with anyone in my family besides my children.
#2. My oldest son thinks he's grown therefore acts like it. Tends to be rude and not very kind to his younger brother or me for that matter.
#3. Visa process sucks. Worst experience of my life. I believe it's a form of torture.
#4. I hate conducting a marriage over the phone. I live a single yet married lifestyle so I can go out there and look but can't touch. I'm lonely...a woman has needs G-dammit!
#5. Calling long distance is flippin expensive.

my cell phone bill for the time i was in egypt is $550 and i have no freakin idea how i'm gonna pay it other than from my tax return.

Ok, I have nothing to add on the whole "needs" thing, but I can complain with the best of them!

1. I HATE only having 2 weeks vacation a year. It seriously pains me to see my boss go on trip after trip, knowing that I can only miss 10 days, period.

2. Kinda goes along with #1. I miss Paris so much. I am aching to go visit and see my friends, but most of all, just to be there. With only 2 weeks' vacation, I am limited to a 1 or 2 day stop on the way to Algeria (which will mostly be filled with visiting my husband's brother who lives there).

3. I hate being broke. But, even if I had money, I would want to use it to travel, so (see numbers 1 and 2).

4. The screen on my 6 month old laptop warped one day. I didn't drop it, bump it, or anything else. I left it on my desk one everning after I used it, and got up the next morning to sign on, only to find the screen completely warped and cracked. It was still under factory warranty, plus I purchased an extended warranty from the store, but guess what? They are saying that both of the warranties don't cover screen damage, so it's going to be $400 to repair it. GRRRR!!!!!!!

#1 I have an a-hole of a instructor in Business Law and I hate this class. He wants you to turn in things that he never said before. You are suppose to read his mind he is trying to fail me and I am only 4 classes away from completing my BA. I hate PH.ds.
#2 My stat class is online and while taking a test the computer did something and it locked me out of the exam becuase of this, I have to redo another one or apply for an extension.
#3 I had lost a lof of weight and then I visisted my fiance and he feed me so much that I gained weight and more. He likes the more weight however, my employer is the US Navy and I have to weight in and be 20 lbs less.
#4 Along with weighting in I have to make a certain on this run and I have not ran in a long time.
#5 I went to Europe on a deployment and everything could have went wrong did. Even though the storm is over, and I have settled my issues. I am still I guess on defense because of what happened. (They tired to blame me forever thing and make me look bad, however it was a big table of miscommunication and I could was receieve.)
#6 Trying to pay off debt and I am trying to do the emergency plan that I have prepared for the immgration and maybe moving to Morocco.
#7 Being a parent sucks.
#8 My brother made my parents upset. He just joined the military and he came home from training and did not visit them or spend any time with them and he is going to Iraq.
#9 The Navy had the never to ask me to volunteer for Iraq. (After they denied my fiance, yeah right.)
#10 I will say confusion. I am just not sure what to do with life at this moment. Relationship problems, immgration; it is so easy to throw away and very hard to continue sometimes. (I hope this makes sense.)
#11 My ex- best friend. IF you only knew what he did. It makes loneliness worse, also being the fact that he is my fiances cousin.
#12 The guy I dated before how told me that he was not ready for marriage, got married!!!! Talk about the spit in the face. But this is not a problem. I think it is begin alone. The time difference makes communication hard sometimes and also we both work a lot.

Other than this things are ok.

#1 I requested an extention for my Business Law class. I just took the grade for the math
#2 I started a great work out plan and I think I will be able to stick to it.
#3 Everyone is healthy it would suck if everyone was sick and I have issues too you know.
#4 I got my mother and step father a fabolous gift which got me the daughter of the year award.
#5 I went to Jumah today for the first time in about 7 weeks.
#6 I spent Eid with Italian muslims, more Italian Moroccan.
#7 I can say I have been all over Europe now.
#8 I am going to Bahrain in Auguest.
#9 I have the money to go to Morocco.
#10 I got good advice on my plan for Morocco.
#11 I am back in teaching at the Mosque after my long time away and now I have more students. They missed me and I missed them. They are great kids.

So I guess my life is 50/50!!!

If my husband is dead, then I guess I won't have to worry about the freakin' visa process and if he isn't dead he will be when he finally calls me so it's a non-issue either way.

ugh. the soda machine is out of diet coke again and my daughter just called to beatch about being grounded. i hate it when she whines. this is where i miss having a male figure in the house. i am no good at discipline.

Gosh some of the rants are pretty bad. I'm joining in too. Last 2 months have really been hard.

1. $645 car repairs in Nov; flat tire Dec 25th (on way to family celebration - got towed home instead) costing $165; car wouldn't start on Jan 4th. - another $300

2. Sister's truck was stolen on Dec 26th - all my credit cards, cash, camera, cell phone were in there too. Spent night in women's homeless shelter with sis & her two daughters.

3. Got RFE on 16th and am still waiting for it to arrive so I can take care of it.

4. My guy went to his village on the 12th - no cell phone coverage or Internet there, haven't heard a word since then. (I can't even moan to him about our RFE!)

5. I've been stuck in temp agency job for the last 10 months. Found out this company keeps temps forever and NEVER hires them! So I have only 5 days paid vacation a year (only public holidays), no medical or dental, no chance of bonus, raise or promotion. I'm so depressed thinking about job searching again.

OK good things: I have a place to live, enough food, can pay my bills, no debts.

No ELW wins I mentioned good things to it was 11 good things and 12 bad so technically I evened out. Well me and her are the same but I will tell you whoever was not able to get the soda they wanted, I totally feel your pain. I hate when they have Pepsi instead of Coke. I love coke and I hate pepsi.
But I have two more good things.

#12 I got free legal help for my fiance and I.
#13 I got to see the movie Dream girls and I loved it. And now I can join and make interesting comments on the movies. My friends and I love to analze.

I'm glad I didn't complain because my compalints would seem so insignificant to what some of you have to go through. Hope things get better.

I can relate to you on that one, didi... I hate when my Maya says 'I'm going to visit my old friend in the Terai' or 'I'm going to my sister's village'... 'cos I never know when I will be able to communicate with him again...

My gripes:

My Maya's parents have disowned him for wanting to marry a 'bideshi' and tell him they have a 'nice Nepali girl' picked out for him. He says he would rather be a sadhu if he can't marry his Maya...

By the end of the year when hopefully he and I will be together I will have to take money out against my retirement fund to get us settled in an apartment - at least it will be a secured loan

No I actually decided to buy a car for my mom instead for Christmas. I got her a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and she loves it. When both cars are paid off (3 years) I will get the car I really want...the Acura MDX

I suck at disciplining older children. That's what their dad is for. My ex is always a phone call away and that does the trick.

anyhoo yeah i call their dad when it gets real bad, like yesterday, but then i have to listen to her pizz and moan about my calling him and all that. plus they're with me more than they're with him so it makes it harder. she just doesn't care what i say and does what she wants. i totally wanna move out of my town because it's just too damn expensive to live there. i pay $1,300/quarter just in property taxes never mind the childcare and the excise tax, blah blah blah. when i suggested we move she took a nutty and when i suggested an appt rather than a home i thought she'd go into convulsions. she's all into keepin' up with the Jone's. Whenever our next door neighbor's daughter gets a new outfit from Abercrombie and Fitch she has to get one too...which she doesn't ...she just makes me miserable whining for one and i explain how i barely have enough to live where we are.

I could go on but still EWY or whatever her name is definitely has it worse it think so i feel a tinge better.

Wow yah, villages with no communication are awful. That's awful about your guy's parents disowning him. My guy's mother (his father expired almost exactly a year before mine) is looking foward to having me as a daughter-in-law - thinking all foreigners are millionaires! Boy is she in for a rude awakening!

My guy's parents also had lots of prospective brides lined up - well-paying ones of course - but he refused them all, saying he doesn't want anyone but me. Finally after a few years of trying, they gave up.

I kept wondering why he couldn't get back his passport, couldn't he have searched through the house when his parents were out? Was he able to get a replacement? I couldn't believe that his parents would go to such extremes!

I've been coughing almost nonstop since last March, aside from brief respits cough drops provide And I didn't get my inhalers last night because I decided to make a real dinner instead. Good choice, because I actually made something my husband liked


But, alhamdulilah, everything in life provides a chance to improve myself. Alhamdulilah.

My 18 year old acts like he is losing his mind. I cant wait until he graduates (LORD plz grant me this wish) so he can move. :-)

I really need to buckle down and apply for this promotion.

2. My daughter is not hormonal but driving me crazy with reading about animals. I love to read and I am happy she is wanting to learn, but sometimes it can be too much. Mum needs a break! Mum does not know all the answers about animals!
3. Still waiting for my N400 ^%*(&([email="*&@%"]*&@%[/email]) almost a year now. I had to refile and resend the $ cos of some clerical error. ANd not getting the NOA in the mail. Least I learned how to check it online.
4. I am extremely worried a good friend of mine
5. I am getting health problems from all this stressing and waiting and I donnot have health insurance now
6. I have trouble sleeping and eating
7. I think I have another ulcer
8. And I really miss H'boub. Cos of trying to save, time zone differences and work schedule we cannot talk so much.
