I called today as well and was told Ngan's interview would be on February 13th! Great news! Though, for those of you who are not in Viet Nam now, a fair warning, book any travel arrangments now, dont hold off. Ngan and I had a hell of a day getting anything to and from Saigon because of Tet. Vietair is almost totally booked, we were able to get one flight to Saigon, thats all. Then, even the train only had one day availuable, so we're stuck taking a bus back to Nha Trang, then a train(the only availuable day) back to Saigon for our feb 20th flight to America. We're not too sure when to get to saigon for her medical and things, they say one week but since her interview is on a tuesday....? we just booked for the wednesday before and are hoping everything goes smoothly with the medical and things. I'm sure they are all closed on Sat and Sunday. Well, if there are anyother February 13thers that want to wait with me while we wait for our fiancees, give me a PM.

Hi ridejewel,
Chechk this hotel link out. It was helpful for my friend who recently visited Saigon in November with me.
http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com/hotels_saigon.htmlI stayed at Parkview Hotel (Canh Vien) on Hai Ba Trung in April for $25 a night (2 persons with breakfast, including tax, and internet connection). I enjoyed it.

Cool. Thanks a lot guys. I'll check those hotels out. Though, our budget is around 150,000 a night, we're super poor these days, kind of sucks. CK&Tydi, I hope you good luck on getting a ticket in February, this place is a total mess around that time of year....that is unless you're okay taking a bus fit for 40 that has 100 passengers on it. I heard that in some places adult diapers get sold out of stores because of the long train/bus rides, no joke.

In this price range, you might also check out hotels in the Pham Ngu Lao area (i.e. Bui Vien, Pham Ngu Lao, and De Tham streets).
Check out that first link from Tony/Anthea, and it will show hotels in this area.

There are so many places for you to stay, what JD said is correct. You can ask your wife to check where you want to stay first. On the adjacent of New World Hotel gate (Cach Mang Thang Tam St.), you can see some small hotels, it's in low price too, you can check with them. That area is near the Center (Benthanh Market), you can walk to the BenThanh market and to Pham Ngu Lao area to eat if you like.
My fiance will stay in my home (near the airport), it's the most convenient. We can cook and do anything in the normal life. You cannot do that in the hotel.

make sure you get a copy of her medical examination and shot records. if not, you will have alot of headaches later on. it's good for 1 year once she gets here. my wife's physician didn't give her anything after her physical exam and shots in bangkok. they send the results to uscis. so my wife and i assumed everything will go smoothly. but when she arrived here and we applied for her green card, you have to submit the i-693a and we didn't have record. so she had to contact the doctor who was responsible for her medical exam and shots in bangkok. they finally sent it to us. but by the time we sent her AOS application, her physical exam and shots is about 1 yrs old. so we had to get another exam and shots here. but luckily we had to pay only for the physical exam. for the shots, we went to a county public clinic and they gave them to her for FREE! i'm posting this to hopefully help you as well as others.
