Waited on the hubby but seems he is not coming. Thanks for all the lauhs tonight ladies.

Tomorrow going out to eat. Donnot where yet... my duaghter bought me a gift. I saw her wrap it is construction paper that she drew pictures on and made a bow out of too. She kept telling to not even think of trying to open it before tomorrow.
Not feeling like it is really a holiday...even the holiday I felt that way...no fun w/o the
man
He told me Friday he did not forget which surprised me. Wow finally a man who can keep dates...
My girlfriend made me to cak, very nice of her... very fancy fodant covered cake. I hate to say it but it will just sit in my frig for a few weeks before I throw it out. Anyone want some cake? I rather get some tiramisu from Olive Garden or some Opera slices from Shatila....anywho happy Sunday to everyone... and enjoy that extra day!

Happy happy birthday!!!

I hope you enjoy the day and your daughter's present.

I'm wondering what they cycles are for all the women here. Would definitely be interesting to chart it.

Still missing my honey like crazy but he logged in from a cafe late this morning and even got on their very crappy webcam. I have to say, even seeing a bad cam image is better than none at all!!!
Will get to talk to him again tomorrow morning after I wake up. yay!
Hope everyone is staying safe with all the crazy weather out there!

Happy Birthday, Henia!!!!
Wadi left for work at 7 and I couldn't get back to sleep!

Oh well, I guess I got enough sleep, since we fell asleep around 11 watching "Pirates of the Caribbean 2". Well, I fell asleep around 11, I don't know if Wadi even made it through the opening credits!

More happy birthday wishes for Henia.
Hope you're having a wonderful day.
It's beautiful and sunny here today, though it's only 29 degrees out at the moment.
I'm going to have some breakfast and relax til my honey comes online in a couple hours.
Happy Sunday everyone.

** I was just looking at the package of the cinnamon raisin bread I'm having and I see that the bread is distributed by Bimbo Bakeries.

Bimbo Bakeries (from Mexico right?) bought one of the biggest bakeries in the Dallas area awhile back. I always wondered about the name "Bimbo" . . . lol.
But then I also wondered why some cars have the names that they do . . . Honda Prelude??? ok, a prelude is the name of a condom in case you don't know . . . so I laughed about that one alot when a male friend of mine bought a Prelude, hehe, he never did get the joke because I guess he didn't buy condoms (stupid after he got divorced).
I noticed a Chevrolet Cobalt that is red and wonder why. hehe, my brother reminded me that they could have been referring to steel and not a shade of blue!

Hi everyone! I have a day off finally, but not really doing anything fun since Maj has to work. I'm going to attempt to bring some order to my house, which has become a disaster area. But I'm also reading the paper and this new book I got by Diana Abu-Jaber called Crescent. It's really good, I wonder if the Lebanese ladies here have read it?

Hahahahaaa it's funny to us in English !! But in Spanish, the word "Bimbo" never really had any meaning -- it's just a word the company made up.
Remember the Chevy "Nova" ?? It never sold well in Spanish-speaking countries. Finally they figured out why.... because "No Va" means "DOESN'T GO" lol:

Hey y'all... it's hot here again

but we're going to a luncheon given for us by a couple of my clients today. It's going to be really nice and they are the sweetest people. Some other clients are having a dinner for us another time soon also - I really have the nicest clients.
We had a fun little scooter ride yesterday and planted/replanted some mint - hope it manages to survive b/c we sure do go thru a lot of it. It's too dang expensive at the store for a little container. Hopes are that the pot of 4 plants will root well enough and then we'll move it to a raised bed to take over, inch'allah! Then there should be plenty of mint.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Happy BD henia!
Well my morning started off good. We had guests this morning. My husband's cousin and his son from kansas came to visit. We had a wonderful arab breakfast of pita bread, labneh, makdous, olives, tomatoes, onions, hummus, ful, olive oil and zataar and scrambled eggs with arab tea. We finally got dish network, so now my husband is watching the arab channels. The rest are taking a nap!!
Happy Sunday to all!

Well, we actually miss Boston a lot! Maj especially misses that cafe in the North End.
We live in the Bronx, so not that great of a neighborhood. It's always exciting to go into the city though. I usually get one day off a week, and occasionally it's the same day Maj has off

But I'm halfway through my intern year now; starting in July my life will be a lot better. I just finished my OB rotation, and I loved it! Delivering babies is the most amazing thing ever.

Wow look who finally showed up ! Been a long time since we've seen you on the board -- I'm glad to see you post again.
Diana Abu-Jaber is an amazing writer. She's had to fight against a lot of pressure and even censorship in the U.S. publishing world -- she's been pressured to change her words, to change her titles, to rewrite her characters, to remove references to Israel and war crimes against the Palestinians, and on and on. She's a fighter, though -- she's not about to be shut up.
I haven't read this latest book yet -- but I will soon.

We're iced in and my daughter started running 103 temp.

I've been giving her Tylenol & Advil which has brought the temp down to about 100. Just sucks because I really don't think there is anyway I can get out of my driveway to take her to a doctor because road crews have not cleared our street yet. It's supposed to freeze rain more tomorrow too!

I need to move someplace warm.

Not having a hurricane party today, are you??
I swear you are going to get some of this wet stuff . . . . maybe not the freezing variety though. Slowly but surely it is moving thru the metroplex (Dallas/Ft. Worth for those that don't know).

Happy Birthday Henia!!!!!!
Hope your daughter's fever breaks soon aymerlu.
um...mind started Friday toooooooooooooooooooooo. rofl.
I blew up at my kids this morning and while I type this they are cleaning their rooms with a vengeance.

Woke up to find the sink FULL of dirty dishes and the kitchen looked like a big bag of oil and flower threw up in it. Nice way to wake up on a Sunday morning right???? NOT.
I want to get out of this house as soon as their done and go to a craft shop to get materials for the scrap books I'm making for my trip pictures. I love doing that stuff.
I want to move somewhere warmer too. I've been looking at the money magazine top places to live but there are bloggers that have nasty things to say about just about each town that is cited so I dunno. Not that I can up and move but I'm just thinking ahead since boston is so expensive and Usama may want to go where the weather is warmer and employment is better. Who knows. Hope everyone is having fun today.

Maybe you should avoid Texas . . . LOL, I'll only say that if you like "warmer" because it is definitely not "WARMER" today . . . now 9 months out of the year, it is much balmier than it is today (FREEZING) and might even remind Usama of Egypt . . . HOT summers (don't need to go to Egypt for the heat).
Employment is generally good in this area, no state income tax (high sales taxes though), real estate is cheaper than in the north (it is all relative). Could be worse places to live . . . I always think about moving because I hate the HEAT, but I am not exactly a snow-bunny type!

oh the past two days off were great, i really needed it....we went to the northside of chicago today, first time for me there. it was like a jewish/indian/pakistani/ neighborhood and i seriously felt like i was back in jordan, all the shops looked like shops in jordan, and we even bargained wth the store owners....we ended up getting a dvd player, digi camera, and a vacuum to send home with my mother in law, cause that stuff is super expensive there....it was cool though, jac, dawn or andrea, if u have never been there, u really need to go
