Authenticated . . . that was the word that I was looking for! Paid a fee (about $30) and they stamped the docs, blah, blah. It is to authenticate the translator of the doc (if I remember correctly) . . . it doesn't register the marriage at the embassy, which isn't something you need to do as far as I know, LOL!!!
I can't find the link for that info that I printed off that mentioned the steps to get married in Egypt. . . I'll see if I filed it away with a bunch of other papers that I have been keeping.
FYI, I stayed in Egypt almost 3 weeks to get all the papers done . . . took a trip down to Luxor while waiting on the MOJ to do their thing. Barely squeaked thru on getting the translations to take back to the Embassy . . . last day before departure!!!
