Other than the obvious 'family/my partner' answers, what one thing do you miss the most?
The biggest thing I miss is the people in my village and the smallness of it all.

The public transport system in London. You just jumped on a tube/bus and you were there. I miss being able to walk to shops, everything is just so spaced out here. In London there was a high street where you could shop in loads of shops and not have to drive anywhere.

What I miss most is speaking the same language! Although I have been here 5 years I still regularly have those moments where I think to myself "Now, what's the word they use for that here?"
I went to Martin's to do some grocery shopping yesterday - the woman cashier said that her brother had taken an English doctorate in Leeds. She loved to hear him talk. She held up the entire queue for about 5 minutes while she laughed her way through phrases like "I've got a ladder in my tights" and telling me how hilarious it was that people aren't allowed to drive on the "pavement" in England!
I so enjoy a good "chin wag" with friends in the UK.

Dr. Who is aired in the states. Erm, I think it's on the Sci-fi channel. I don't want to swear to it as I'm not sure. We are a few months behind though I believe...I was in the UK in July, saw an episode in which he's just gotten his new body and bemoaned the fact he wasn't ginger. Honey was here in December was channel surfing and found the same episode. The conversation went as follows:
Him "OMG, you have Dr. Who! This is great! Good episode too! You won't have seen this before!
Me "I saw this episode during my visit."
Him "Did you? Was I there?"
Me "No, was that other English guy I'm engaged to."

Yeah, they are still showing series 2 with David Tennant. I saw that back in May-July last year!!

Series 3 in the UK starts around April time I think and they had a Christmas special too.
Torchwood was a BBC2/BBC3 series, so it might not even make it over here in the USA. I shall wait for the DVD I reckon.

The American DVD's I bought were stuff like "House" etc etc. I don't actually have TV here (poor reception) so anything I DO want to watch I get on DVD or watch over the internet (like Lost).

I miss Lemon Curd - they have it here but it's about $4 a jar, and isn't nearly as neon yellow as the stuff in the UK.
I miss Jacobs Mikado because they were what our aunties and our mum's friends gave us when we were small but we still love them as grown-ups.
I miss galaxy chocolate (but we stocked up on a few bars before we left the UK).
I miss jam tarts because the strawberry and the lemon curd ones tasted awesome but I always had to persuade my brothers to eat the blackcurrant ones cos I didn't like them.
I miss the city after the rain, that wet-granite smell that leaves everything all glistening and sparkling, and downpours that make puddles as big as houses in the road that drivers drive through really fast to see if they can soak you.
I miss the wee sandwich shops the size of a cupboard where the food sucks but the guys are great and practically like family because you go in every morning.
I miss Aberdeen Rowies ("buttries" to your friends) because they taste great but have enough fat to sink a battleship.
I miss the tiny country roads that have a speed limit of 60 even though they are as tight and twisty as a roller coaster.
I miss seeing the cows in the fields and the sheep and the fact there is always one stray sheep on the wee country road that decides to just stand there and watch you as you work out whether to drive round it or just honk your horn like an eejit.
I miss how green the hills get in spring.
I miss the fact our mountains in Scotland are really huge and cool looking and make great postcards when you take their photos.
Sometimes, though, I just miss the memories and the nostalgia it brings me when I think on them...

I kinda feel I don't fit in around here, I'm not a redneck and I "talk funnney", so I miss fitting in somewhere were we use the same words. I hate being made fun of all the time because of the way I say things.
Like others I miss good cheap high street clothes shops and good public transportation, in this town it really sucks for that.
