I am STUNNED beyond belief, but mostly heartbroken. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. During my lunch hour I rang the NVC as I had sent some documents via priority mail on 1/8/07. I knew that there wouldnt be time for them to review our RFE and make a decision, but just wanted to see if they had entered them into the system yet. Knowing that they are entered and on the processing wave again was all I wanted to hear. Instead I got a message stating that the case was complete and being forwarded to the embassy in Dublin. I immediately burst into tears of joy, rang my husband to tell him since it wasnt expected. Then I rang NVC back to hear the message again, but this time the message was different. It was the original message that said it was waiting our RFE documents. WTF? I dont get it. How can the message say complete one minute and not the next? I am just completely baffled by this. Has anyone ever heard of this before? Has this waiting done my head in? I can safely say that functioning on a daily basis has not been an issue before, but after today I am begining to think the govt. is trying to make me loose my mind. Any thoughts on this or something similar happen to anyone else? Please tell me I am not crazy.

A Spurs supporter at the NVC having a laugh?

My guess - Probably a glitch in their system that was corrected or the first time you entered the wrong number.

Try talking to a live operator, or emailing them or both.

I hope the first message was the right one.

Good luck

LOL Boiler, that is the first good laugh I have had today. Thanks! Well if thats the case, then they just screwed another Spurs supporter (my husband). Match day can get tense around our house, LOL.

The thing is, I ring this number daily, enter the case number daily, and listen to that annoying recording repeat it backdaily. It was definitely something on thier end.

As much as I wish the first one to be true Jajo, I did ring an operator and they said that it wasnt complete. Thank you anyways for the advice.

Just gonna have to wait it out and hope for the best. The lady that answered was really nice though and even apologized for the mistake. It wasnt her fault but it was nice of her to try to make me feel better. Hope everyones case is moving along smoothly and your not going mad like me!!

That had to be tough to go through. I am sure they will be done with your case very soon since they now have the requested evidence. I am curious- what was the RFE for? The NVC just got all our documents and now we are waiting for the case to be completed. Good luck.

Not exactly the same situation as yours, but just wanted to say that yesterday was the first time I ever called the NVC to try and speak to an operator. I had been hearing a message that my "biographic" information was recieved but not my "affadavit of support". This was contradicting what my lawyer had been telling me in that she had sent all of it in. (and since I've used her, things have gone smoothly..so I tended to believe her).

Still....I didn't want to wait around and just let things happen, only to find out several weeks later that I'd be getting an RFE for it. So, yesterday I called to speak to an operator.

I can only say...I feel your pain when it comes to dealing with our government (and immigration in particular which seems even MORE understaffed than other departments of our government.....if that's possible wacko.gif

I called on and off from 4 p.m.......and didn't get hold of anyone until near 10 p.m.! What's worse I noticed, is that they won't even let me stay on hold and wait for an operator, it actually hangs up on me and tells me to call back later (arrrgh!). What a pain in the #$#!

But, when , after hours of trying (arrrgh ! again...)......I finally did get hold of someone, he indeed did tell me that they had everything and that the message I had been hearing was an error.

So....your frustration is understandable. I can only imagine the UP...and then DOWN.....you had. Thinking your application was fine and on its way overseas.

This process is just UNBELIEVABLY frustrating........and the government agencies we have to deal with incredibly understaffed and inefficient.

Good luck on your case. good.gif
