My fiance is in America and we are getting married really soon. My question relates to how she can change her international passport. Here goes the common story we all have. When she gets her AP she is going home for a month to take some final exams and pick up her university degree. She wants to change her name in the passport, but I don't think she can because I think it will contain her old Visa and AP. Can she change her passport and then come back to America when she has gone home on an AP?
Thanks for all the help.

why not just keep her name the same in the Passport, and when she goes home, just make sure the airline ticket and the name on the passport match.

If she were to change her name in the passport, can't she carry the old one with her too?

My passport is expiring in 2 years but my Brazilian visa lasts for another 4 years. As far as I know I'll have to carry the old one with me when I go to Brazil - and by the time I get my new passport my name would have changed due to marriage.

Can't we do that?

Visas are not transferred from old passport to new passport so yes, you will have to carry both......

Don't you have to turn in your old passport in order to receive the new one???
