hi everyone,
As a us citizen I had filed for my mom's GC. She is now in the US. at the embassy, where she had her interview, they stamped an immigrant visa with Alien registtration number in her passport. underneath the visa sticker(stamp?) it say this is a temporary I-551 and is valid 1 year. my question is that can she travel abroad, and come back to the US with this? she hasn't yet received her actuall green card.
thanks
YuAndDan
Yes I-551 is another way of saying Green-Card, her visa acts just like a Green-card, allowing work, and travel in and out of the country.
