Hi,
Quick question, My fiancee has now had her interview obtained her visa and we have airline tickets for her arrival. When she arrives at the Point Of Entry here in the states I believe there is more than one line she can pick from at customs. Which line does someone with a K-visa go through? I believe there is regular "customs" and then there is "imigration". Can anyone give me an answer? Please don't respond unless you know for sure.
Thanks
In addition, at the immigration stage, unless there is a "new immigrant" line, then then she would get into the Visitor line and not the USC/Legal Permanent Resident one. This is for obvious reasons, at this point she is neither a USC or a Legal Permanent Resident. If she is in doubt, most POE's have roving officers providing crowd/line control. Just have her ask one of them what she should do.
K-1, and K-3 visas are Non-Immigrant visas, but with Immigrant intent, and as such they are carrying a large brown sealed Immigration package, they need to go through immigration line because they are ultimately an immigrant.
If USC petitioner is traveling with the K- visa holder, they too can go through the immigration line with the beneficiary.

A Fiancé(e) Is Also an Immigrant
Because a fiancé(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry an American citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fiancé(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa.
