My employer made me a letter stating the date and nature of my employment, and salary, and that it is a full-time position but they cannot put that it is temporary or permanent for "legal reasons." Does anyone think this will be a problem? Anyone have experiance with this before?

You should be fine.

NatyLaloPeru,

Most people have this experience. They could, and probably would, state that your position is temporary if it is, but no savy employer is going to state that your position is permanent - it would give you grounds to sue them in the event of a layoff.

Thanks - it is permanent - but they just don't want to put it in writing - my boss is very paranoid about all the legal stuff rolleyes.gif

I e-mailed my boss the letter that I wanted (including permanent status) and she just copied it and printed it on letterhead. I probably got away with that because she's too busy studying for the bar whistling.gif

I wouldn't think it would matter too much. We can have permanent jobs and be fired the next day.
