Ahmed & Ella
hello my friends i got this news today from the lady helping me in the congress office.....its from vermont to the congress lady,,,,and she passed it on to me.......Ella,

I just received this information. I will be able to check the status of your case.

Hello,

The processing of the I-129F consular return is still pending with an officer. This office is experiencing a backlog and apologizes for the delay. Our office processes these cases as our resources and priorities allow. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a definite indication for when the officer will be able to review this matter. You may wish to periodically check on the case status.

Personally, I would contact your senator's office by filling out their online privacy release and faxing a letter clearly explaining your very complicated situation and asking for assistance. It doesn't sound like the congressman's office is doing much of anything and in my experience the immigration liaison at the senator's office is usually much more informed and involved.

Good idea Kit. However my reps were only able to provide this type of assistance as well. If they are able to do more they are unaware or perhaps unwilling. Not sure myself. I had the assistance of both congressman and 2 senators in Michigan.

I have heard in other parts of this forum that Vermont is very very very very slow. If you go on their site they're showing that they are now on March applications for I130's. blink.gif

For K-1's which is what she filed, they're usually much faster... I have seen some approvals in 2 weeks.

Considering her situation, one approved petition, 221g issued and petition returned to USCIS while a second I-129F was subsequently filed, it's not going to be fast or easy to figure out what's going on or how to remedy it.

I am just curious how you filed 2 k1 petitions? Did you close the 1st one? I heard that filing another petition while having one open will automatically cancel both petitions. My fiance was denied in April 2006 and I am still waiting on Vermont to send me a notice, until then I am not making any new moves.
