Hi all,

I was wondering how long you waited until you got your Welcome Letter and GC? I came here on a CR1 and have been here for a month and no trace of either...I am actually considering calling USCIS to check on it...what do you think?

All answers are appreciated!

Approx 24 days for myself. Keep in mind Gov't offices close on Holidays! Not sure what the Average time is.

Mine was just under a month, see timeline in my sig.

As already mentioned government departments have been closed for Christmas, New Year and the national day of mourning for President Ford, so you can bet that has delayed things by at least a week. When I landed I was told it would be a month and if it hadn't arrived after 10 months to call and chase it up. So it seems while a month is the normal it can be longer.

It was approx 1 month between 1st entry on CR-1 and GC arrived. But I think the officer told us that it could take up to 6 months for the GC to arrive.

For your case, I think the holidays might cause the delay. I know, waiting it is not pleasant, especially if this relates to the immigration stuff.

Good luck

roughly 166 days from I-485 filing to GC approval (and another 14 days to GC in hand for a total of 180). And this was including an RFE.

(since I did not see anything restricting it to CR-1 entrants....)

Thank you!!

After being on hold from an hour with the USCIS and hearing that they had just received my paperwork and that they had no idea when I'd be getting my greencard, I got my Welcome Letter in the mail!! Go figure... blink.gif
