I've been very patient for pretty much all of the process, but this holdup with my fiancé getting Packet 3 is seriously stressing both of us out. I'm trying to compose an e-mail to send to the Montréal Consulate, and I want to know if this sounds good...

Hello, my name is Pamela P*****, and I am the petitioner for my fiancé, Réjean B******. Our K1 visa petition was scheduled to be sent from the NVC at the end of November 2006, and as of this date, Réjean has not received the paperwork that he needs to fill out and send back so he can have his interview. Could you please confirm if the paperwork has been sent out yet? Thank you very much.

That's definitely too long to wait! Email looks good to me. I'd start the subject line with the case number first instead of the inquiry. Just my thoughts...they might be more apt to open it if they see the number first.

Make sure to include your fiance's address just in case they have it wrong/to confirm it.

I agree about the case number as subject line, I think they are more apt to respond to you that way.

Good gods. I called them, and the lady told me that the forms were mailed November 29th, and that "he hasn't done anything with them yet". He never received them!!! We confirmed the address, and it was correct.

They said they'll resend them, so that's a good thing... I'm just so pissed-off now, though, because I feel this was a whole month wasted!

And the icing on the cake... I sent the original documents along with our original proof (including the $200 NOA2) with my fiancé on his way back to Montréal from his visit here because I thought it would be safer than mailing them... and what happens?

He just now tells me that Greyhound lost his luggage!!!!!!!

I am going to have a goddamn heart attack here...

Necrotica, I'm sooooo sorry to hear about all the troubles recently. I also read your thread in the K1 forum re: missing originals. The bags will most likely show up but if they don't, bring the copies along with the baggage claim ticket/paperwork he filled out.

Oh dear, what a boondoggle. At least now you have a picture of what happened and how to fix it. Many of us have hit snags beyond our control and we'll meet you in the drugstore buying hair dye to cover the greys. Good luck sorting it out!
