Ok so I know we have 6 months to use the visa and that after my fiance enters the US we have 90 days to get married. What if my fiance comes over in the last month before the visa expires and then technically it expires while he is in the US? Does that 90 days take over with no problem? The 6 months just means he has 6 months to enter the US using the Visa right? I just wanted to check as it is probably a unique question (or maybe not...). We have some stuff we need to get done (and save money!) before my fiance and I get married and we want to know how much time we have to do that.
Thanks for any help! smile.gif

you have 6 months to use the visa.... the 90 days starts as soon as he enters the US with his visa....

the two are totally separate times scales so effectively you can stretch it to six months plus 90 days

the visa has max six months to be used and is done with once u enter, the 90 days starts whenever you enter regardless of whether it is day 1 of the visa or the last day.

Good luck with your journey

The six month expiration is for activation of the visa upon entering the USA. As long as your Fiance makes the move from the UK to the US within that six month window, he will have no problems. Whenever he arrives in the US and activates the visa the POE officer will scribble all over the visa making it void. The K-1 is a single entry visa meaning that once it is activated, the 90 day count starts from that day.

To clarify... In your situation, with your Fiance planning to arrive with a month left of that 6 month activation deadline, that won't give you a month before the 90 day count starts. The day that he arrives in the US starts the 90 day count.

As a side note the deadline for you to be married is the same date as the expiration date that will be stamped on your Fiances I-94 (90 days from the date of entry into the US).

Hope I haven't confused you there !!
