I have my old account which I'm keeping. We've opened a joint, and he is going to have a separate account of his own, too. That way, we each have our own little account for buying fun stuff without worrying about our mortgage check bouncing because we've overspent.

We'll have a joint account once we're married. "My money your money" has torn up a lot of people in our families... they get so caught up in it that big problems start. So none of that for us - it's OUR money and we'll both spend it responsibly.
