I am relieved that my hubby received his interview date for 2/1/07 in Kingston. I am currently compiling a list of documents that he should take with him to the interview please let me know if I have everything covered.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Appointment Letter

Passport Pictures (6 which includes those he'll need for the medical)

Passport

You might want to just prepare another I-134 since you are going to get it notarized anyway. This way there is no "drama" at the interview (in the case that they want of the signature). I think they want original signature from you on the form, because that is the form that is going to come back to homeland security in his "brown envelope".

I forget -- are you a K-1?

If so, you will need the "No Impediment to Marriage" certificate.

That is great. Did you call for the interview date or did they mail it to you? I just want to get a feel on how they are scheduling recently. I am hoping to have a date within the next 2 weeks. Your paperwork looks pretty good. Looks like this is I-130 Minfay.

Hi Savanphil, thanks for your response. I am not familar with a form I-134, the form that that I use to file the Affadavit is I-864. I'll redo that.

BTW we are a CR-1 and do not need to file the form you mentioned.

Thanks!

Thanks Texas Bound, please see below a copy of the email I sent to them and their response.

Good Morning:

My husband's case was completed at the National Visa Center on November 29th, 2006 and forwarded to the US Embassy in Kingston on December 5th, 2006. I would like to attend the interview with my husband and have to make plans accordingly.

I live and work in New York and I need to give my employer enough notice regarding paid time off. I was wondering if it's possible for my husband to receive a possible medical appointment and interview date the week January 29th or the week of February 5th.

I would appreciate your advice regarding this matter.

Thank you and Happy Holidays,
BELOW IS THEIR RESPONSE

Hello:

Our records indicate that we have scheduled XXXXX for a visa interview on February 1, 2007. On December 22, we mailed an appointment packet to him at XXXXXXXXXXX. If he does not receive the appointment packet, a representative should send an e-mail to KingstonIVInfo@state.gov and schedule an appointment to come to the Embassy's immigrant visa information window and retrieve a duplicate appointment packet. If everything is in order at the time of his interview, we should be able to issue the visa within four to five working days.

Regards,
Texas Bound
Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it. I have had good correspondence from them via email as well. I hope it continues. Good luck to you & Be Blessed.

This is very good info!!! I am just about at the same place in my journey, I am waiting for an appointment for my fiancee to go pick up packet #3.

Question... Do you have to turn in the DS230 before the Embassy will give you an interview date??

Hi Sonshyne, I am doing a CR-I Visa for my husband. I believe someone who has done the K-I Visa will better able to assist you. smile.gif

Sonshyne, when he goes to pick up packet 3, he can drop off an original signed DS230 at the same time. This will save you a great deal of time & having to go back or mailing it back in.

We are all mostly going through the Jamaican embassy in this forum and for Jamaica interview it's highly recommended that you would attend. We wouldn't be familiar with the Barbados Embassy. Don't know if they are *as strict* as the Jamaican Embassy. Good luck to you.

Luvtravelin is right. How has your correspondence/communication been so far with their Consulate? Ask him what has he heard about how their Embassy handles their visa issuance. Also, do a search for other Barbados petitioners on the timelines & ask them how their experience was. That should help you decide.

JUST CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USE TO CORRESPONDEND WITH THE EMABSSY

THANK YOU
