Hey everyone,

Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes before your case is at NVC? I received my NOA2 in the mail but it was never updated online to say we were approved, and I never got any emails. blink.gif So I was told to make sure that it actually gets to NVC etc. I was wondering if now would be too early to try and contact them? I need to find out what the new case number is...

Thanks in advance.

It can take 2-3 weeks for CSC to send your peitition to NVC, give it 2 weeks then check with NVC either by calling or email.

When checking NVC I would call or email 1 or 2 times a week. When calling the automated system tends to not have info for I-129F cases get an operator. When calling or emailing have USCIS Case number, name and DOB of beneficiary, and petitioner handy.

The only way I got our DoS case number was by emailing NVC

An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received.

On December 8 we received an e-mail indicating we were approved.
December 13th we got our hard copy
December 21st I e-mailed NVC with questions re: our petition
December 26th before checking e-mails I called NVC and was told by operator that we were not yet at NVC.
December 26th after being on the phone to NVC I checked my e-mails and found out that we were at NVC and were being added in the system and they were waiting for a number for us.

As YuAndDAn say, E-mail NVC and also call them and speak to a live operator. As for me they are truly very nice and helpful folks to speak with.

I am impatiently waiting myself, paranoid at some sort of possible delay. I have a Dec. 8 NOA2 date and talked to an operator last night. They told me they have no record of anything, so you can probably expect to wait another week, at least. The operator will say it can take up to 90 days, which is scary, but I think that's just a number to keep people off their ###. 2-4 weeks seems to be the norm.

I mean, how hard is it to mail something? Or so you would think.

My petition was approved on NOv 14 but no update online and no emails. I found out a week later that we had the NOA2. I sent an e-mail to NVC and received a reply about 3-4 days later with the new case nmber. You can see the timeline in my signature.

I tried to call that number, and even if I "press 2" for the automated information regarding my fiance visa, it says that there are no operators available, and to call back during business hours. blink.gif I just want to know that they have it.
