I would appreciate very much if someone can verify which Affidavit of Support form is required for the packet 4 fiancee visa, is it the I-864 or the I-134 thanks-steve

I-134 is used for Non-Immigrant visas like K-1, and k-3 at the consulate visa interview, the I-864 is used for Green-card, all immigrant visas such as IR-1, and CR-1 result in a green card issued.

Non-immigrant visa holders need to adjust status in the states, when status is adjusted then the non-immigrant sponsor needs to provide an I-864 in order to adjust from non-immigrant status to immigrant status and get the green card.

So I-864 is actually used to sponsor a green card, and I-134 is used to sponsor a non-immigrant.

Thanks very much for clearing up this issue for me, I was about to send my fiancee the I- 864 which would have conceivable delayed the process since the I-134 is required

we used the I-134 for the K1 visa.

The embassy or consulate handling your case determines which forms they require and will give either you or fiance a list of such documents in your packet.

For your interview, most likely it will be the I-134 but, again, the embassy or consulate will dictate which form they accept at this stage in the process.

Good luck on your journey! good.gif
