If you just celebrated your first Christmas with your SO, what did you do?

While we did not spend Christmas together, the New Year holiday is another story.....
garyandmarylou
Christmas Eve we visited with friends and then in the evening went to our friends house for a xmas eve type party. Christmas Day we made and received many phone calls, but spent the day at home just the 2 of us. Opened gifts in the morning, had breakfast, then prepared our dinner together. It was a great first xmas together. luv.gif

Well Veronica couldn't be here... But I'm leaving the tree up...her presents are under the tree....and I have a Christmas Day Newspaper...
So that when she does get here.. We will celebrate it together... I told her last year would be the last Xmas..apart.. but because of of my divorce taking longer then I thought..I couldn't file my I-129F early enough to make it this year.. but I'll be dam'd If I'm going to let her down... It might be late...But we'll still have Christmas ..With candle light..Wine..and opening presents......

Hrmm *thinks back*...the first Christmas we spent together was in our new home....it was so beautiful! We were out with friends at our local on Christmas Eve...after it closed, there was a village party that we went to for a few hours. Then in the morning, we went to church, went to our local (it's open for 2 hours only) to hang out with our friends, did the fam thing for gifts and dinner, then went home to relax for a bit. We were planning to go to go to a friend's house on the night for a bit of a small get together. But we got on the couch and started watching all the Christmas specials....got the couch duvet out, got some mulled wine, and just stayed there the rest of the night...it was perfect!

I think we did the very same thing for each Christmas that we were in England, lol.

I missed that this year cray5ol.gif so did he. He had an awful day cray5ol.gif cray5ol.gif

Not quite the right choices, so I had to take the closest.

Christmas Eve, we went to church and "hung out" in pastor's basement (very near church) taking a nap till communion service at 5 pm, then went home after communion service.

Christmas day, we had (a late--in typical desi fashion) lunch at a friend's home.

Not quite as nice as we would have liked, as it rained heavily on 12/25 (so we could not easily go to DC to see the Christmas-tree display).

Well neither of us "celebrate" Christmas...but I was with my family on Christmas Eve for their celebration I guess you could say, then the evening I talked with my husband... very nice but made me miss him more. crying.gif Holidays are tuff with your SO.

We spent Christmas Eve alone till about 9:00 pm when the kids got back from their dads and Christmas morning we stayed home opening gifts with kids and in the afternoon went to my parents house to open more gifts and eat lots of turkey! I can remember last Christmas we were on the phone together as the kids opened gifts and I couldn't stop the tears. This year there were tears, by tears of joy! I really didn't think I could be this happy!
