I am curious about what's gonna happen to my driving license.
It will expire in 6 months and I just filed my I-751. Will the State of NJ renew it with the NOA letter?
I still remember the words, when I went to the DMV for the first time: "No EAD or GC, no license".
What will they say this time? I hope this time is better.
Any ideas?

Good luck. I assume they also told you your two-year green card "isn't a real green card" so you couldn't get a real license, and that's why your license is expiring now? NJMVC has such a stick up its ###. And I say this as someone who used to get contract work foisted off on my by them on a regular basis.
Luckily we're now in NM, which doesn't require any proof at all to get a license, really. They asked G. if he had a green card, he said yes, but they didn't actually ask to see it.

Don't worry, by the time your license will get expired you'll have your 10 year green card... just cross your fingers! I got my license here in CT last September and they gave me 6 years expiration for it although i only shown a CPR (conditional green card)... I guess it really depends on the state where you live... Anyway, good luck!

Here in MA I got a full license (10 years) with just my EAD and a SSN... good luck with getting a renewal..

You guys are lucky! NJ is very strict regarding the license...

NJ is the absolute worst! At one point they told my husband to drive with his Costa Rican drivers license, and that there would be no problem. I laughed right in the womans, face and asked for a supervisor. I got the same answer.
Well, the officer that gave my husband a ticket for being an unlicensed driver weeks later thought it was funny too!
I need to move south~
