Few Questions:

1. Do the letters from your friends need to be notarized?

2. My GC expires April 27, can I file January 20th or do I really need to wait for January 27th (or days after that)??

3. Do we really need to include pictures?

4. Can you send photocopies of bank statements, health, dental and car insurance, tax returns, car ownership, plane tickets?

5. Do we still need to include Affidavit of Support?

Thanks a lot for your patience!!!

1, Good idea.

2, With in 90 days of expiration. (Jan 27 is 90 days) so any time between 1/27 and 4/27

3. Good idea shows Bona fide Marital Relationship

4. Yes, copies, plane tickets show you doing things together.

5. Not needed, the original I-864 from AOS still stands.

Since I am sending our package this Tuesday, here is what I know with info just updated in the last week.

1) Yes, the letters must be notarized (as per instructions, requires affidavits) (even though it doesn't "say" notarized, this has always been the USCIS code work for notarization, I am submitting these to be safe)
2) I think you should wait until 90 days prior to green card expiring (as per instructions)
3) Pictures are no longer a requirement (as per instruction) because of the new biometrics requirement
4) I am sending photocopies of everything, if a interview is called for you would need to bring originals with you
5) No support paperwork is required

The fee is $205 plus $70 biometrics so $275.00 total which can be submitted in one check

Take care, Marilyn and Peter.

Thanks!! Can I have my letters dated January 15? Ugh....my friends will hate the fact that they need to get their letters notarized!!
We are going to file end of January but I am starting to get all the documents ready cause I'll be real busy next month.
I really appreciate all your help!

Thanks so much!! You're a big help

I dated my cover letter for the day I am going to file. Other letters from friends can be dated prior to filing, no need to worry about those. Notarizing should be fairly easy. Banks and even large malls offer this service.

Hi Marilyn and Peter,
Another question....whom did you address the letter from your friends to? I am debating whether to say "to whom it may concern" or "dear uscis examiner" or "dear consular officer". Sorry I am bugging you so much...but this whole process is making me nervous/anxious again.
Thanks,
Ives

We used the standard "To whom it may concern" and followed the general structure from the example forms with our details. I wrote the bulk of the letters for our friends with each one making slight changes as they saw fit.
