Ladies I just finished the K1. I did the fillable down loads forms from the Kingston Embassy Site with no problem. Good luck on your journey!! The yardie family are an invaluble source of information.

I totally understand!!! Fiancee just called to confirm receipt of our DS 230 and was told that they are closed today for that department & to call back tomorrow (Wed.). This is has been my story for so long now. Try to email sometimes you get a response faster. I wonder how they can really make progress with the hours they keep. It drives me crazy. So now you know why the USA is listed as the hardest working country in the world.

I finally got a hold of someone on 1-3-07 and was told my case was received on 12-22 and packet #3 was mailed out on the 29th. I had my fiancee go to the post office on 1-6.... Of course.... It wasn't there

I'm going to mail off the DS230 myself directly to them.

It seems obvious to me that all these changes have been made intentionally to slow down the process.

Their website explaining the changes has much to be desired. From what I was able to find on the website, and what they gave my wife when they wouldn't let her in to reopen her case, to go to the informtion window you must now request an appointment via an email to KingstonIVInfo@state.gov Though of course nobody anwsers the email.

How many Jamaican's have access to email, or know how to use it. (this is not a slur on Jamaicans) The embassy has obviously lost sight of its purpose.

Hi Eric, I wasn't here when you where before... But welcome back anyway

I do agree with you about things being slowed down... How much sense does it make to have to make
an appointmnet to simply "pick up or drop off" forms????? They are making things harder for themselves as well as us.
Maybe once they see how much of a hassle it is for everyone including them... They'll go back to allowing walk ins!!

I also think that they are trying to discourage people from trying to gets visas!! This is so crazy. They don't respond to your e-mails... and good luck getting someone on the phone the only two days they take calls.

I'm going back to JA Friday, and plan to go to the embassy on Wednesday before I fly back. I have business in Mobay which will be completed on Tuesday. I fly back to the US on Wednesday out of Kingston. It comes in handy working for a company with an office in Jamaica.

well we had to emaill them to find out what to do to turn in the ds230 they emailed us back a bout a week later with a jan 18 date to pick up a duplicate they think we didnt get the ds230 but we did so i hope we can turn it in.

OK, I see. You will just need to drop it off. They do require you to have an appt. to drop off. Someone said before that they are trying to make it harder for people to do these types of Visas, I have to agree. & if that is not the case, then they really need to get better management & organization. I was doing some searching. I noticed that in Haiti it takes about a full year to get a K-1 approved. Thank God we didnt fall in love in Haiti. Id lose my mind.

We had a pick up appoinment on Jan 18 also. We turned it in, and he was told he would have an interview in March. But he wasn't given a date. The lady told him if he had gotten it in a little eariler he would have gotten one in Feb.
