Hi there,

My wife just received her CR-1 interview date in Montreal. Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult for me (husband/petitioner) to make this interview. From my understanding of the materials sent to us from the Montreal Consulate, it seems like my attendance isn't necessary. Does anyone know if it is indeed OK for me to miss this interview? Is my absence going to effect her chances for success?

Thanks for all the help,
Jim

That is correct, the petitioner attending the interview is strictly optional, and it will not hinder the case.

You definitely don't have to, and they won't hold it against you. There are lots of people on the Canada board who have gone alone - there was a discussion about it last night smile.gif Good luck!!
