Well, just got home from a gig in NOLA and I'm awake still! Woohoo... I get to start Monday's thread. Where's Charles? He can't actually be working . Guess I'll wash my face, brush teeth, and try to wind down a bit then get some sleep. I'm going meet my jeweler this afternoon to design my wedding ring . Teaching my last classes of the season tomorrow nite, then off till Jan 8 for classes, but busy season ahead w/ my other job. Have a great Monday everyone!

Got up at 5 am today (it's now 5:19 Cali time) to work on a paper for school. Good thing is this is my last paper and I am graduated !!! Just have to get through this one though

Although my graduation ceremony isn't until Feb. 3rd (I know so stupid) and I will be 8 months pregnant walking across that stage ! I have worked so hard for this and cannot wait to graduate with my B.S. in Child Development with HONORS !!!!

I wasn't around VJ too much this weekend. I think I overloaded with the new features last week, so I needed a little break. We had a nice weekend - relaxing, even though I should have been studying. Silly me - I forgot my books at work!

I took Thursday and Friday off this week, so I get to pretend that today is Wednesday already!

Wow! This whole thread has mostly been Charles posting. where is everyone? It's a beautiful morning! I had a wicked long weekend. My mother has officially overdone her welcome. Adil and I almost decided to toss her out last night because of what she pulled, but I talked him out of it for now. Hopefully the talk she and I had last night will make things easier for the rest of the week. Anyway, I have to pray for more patience for my husband and me.

I'm working at a different branch all week. It should be fun, but I will probably be late for my second job every night. Oh well, that's life. I'm still waiting for the password though to actually get logged on the the system. They didn't have it last time either.

Well I have to get going. I have to really look like I am doing some kind of work here. I hope you all have a good day! Take care!

I had a great weekend. I took Alexis to the mall. Oh my, for anyone that hasn't been there, don't go. It was packed with people! We lunched at the food court and made memories. No shopping trip would be complete without crafts! We bought glitter glue and blunt scissors, the LARGE box of crayons and markers. I think today Jessica will bust out the macaroni noodles and they will stick things to paper with glue. Wish I could go play but.....

I have to go to work. We are soooooooo slow these days. No one wants to buy flooring at the holidays, so all I do from now til January is sit at my desk and wander around the internet. My boss bought a $900 software program for my laptop. It is to draw rooms and compute flooring costs. It doesn't have a manual, just a video tutorial. I get so bored after a few chapters, I go back to check out VJ and end up getting nothing done! *raises hand, my name is Jackie and I am a VJ addict*

I'm a dancer and we perform on Sunday nites in a Hookah cafe in New Orleans. I usually dance on Friday nights at a Lebanese restaurant. I had a yummy hookah last nite - coconut, raspberry, blackberry blend - called the Snakecharmer.

Nora - I told my husband that we should think about opening a Hooka cafe here in Philly. I know it would probably do pretty well. Maybe I'll have to keep looking into it, then you can come dance for us.


Jackie has brought to my attention that our AOS interview is coming up pretty soon. I'm starting to get a little nervous, but I think we will be fine. I have to find sometime to sit and go though all of our photos and paperwork and get it all organized.

Oh yeah one more thing I forgot, at this very moment, Adil is in an interview for a new job. I'm hoping it goes well because I know it's a good company to work for, but I just don't know if it's what he's really looking for.

Oh, nothing to say today . . . gloomy day again! Trying to get some on-line training stuff done along with updating resume, etc . . . being on the bench is supposed to be a time to get caught up with the administrative stuff . But I'd rather be working as the holidays approach . . . keeps my mind occupied . . . what little there is of it left these days . . . so I guess that means I don't have to do much today!

Gloomy here today too! It's not that cold, but there is a dampness in the air that makes it feel cold. I am working from home today, but it is not any easier I think than just going in to work in my office. I have a million things to get done , but everything is due on Thursday. If I can just make it that far, I will be FREE! At least for the holidays.

At some point I have to go car shopping too. Rental contract runs out on Friday.

It's definitely Monday! I did not want to get out from under the covers this morning. Tomorrow is our holiday party at the office, though, so everyone is kind of in "party prep" mode. We don't have anything fancy, just everyone meeting at the office after hours. Each person brings some type of hors d'oeuvres and our boss provides beer and wine. We all do the Christmas exchange thing where everyone brings a generic gift, and we all pick numbers. The person with number 1 gets pick of any present under the tree, and the person with number 2 can take number 1's gift or pick out a new present, and so on. It's usually pretty fun.

It'll be Amed's first holiday party, so it'll be interesting to see how he likes it. I am having to bake tonight, though, because we always give our little Christmas presents to co-workers at the party, and I am broke this year so I am making baked goods for everyone at the office. I hope the end result will be nice, but I am not looking forward to spending all night in the kitchen!

There are some hookah lounges here in Jax...but one in particulr is a HUGE hit. YOu can't ever go without a huge wait...if you don't have one, I'd bet opening one would be a hit

We got a bunch of them here in Dallas . . . several close to each other so the ME ppl can just cruise from one to another visiting with all their friends . . . hey, sort of sounds like when I was growing up and we used to cruise the drive-ins, hehe!! Small towns are so much fun to grow up in . . . . but at least everything hadn't been obliterated by a wal-mart yet!

I keep talking to the owner of the restaurant in BR where I dance trying to get him to open a hookah cafe next door to the restaurant - it would be perfect (I think) and Said could run it! . I had a dream the 3rd nite in Casa that he would come here and we would open a cafe/tea room/import store - I would love to do it one day!!! Inch'allah, it could happen.

The one I went to in Paris had a separate plastic disposable mouthpiece. You'd attach it to the hose, use it, and throw it away when you were done. I bet most places are like that.

That sounds good. There was a hookah "cafe" near my college and I would never use them because I didn't know if/how they were cleaned. They didn't have the disposable mouthpieces.

Yep, Hookah Cafe New Orleans uses disposable mouthpieces - they bring enough for everyone to have and you just hang on to yours and slip it on when you smoke. Kinda like a hookah condom!

Hehehe - I have a secret.....shhh no one can tell though promise?!?! I bought Youssef his stocking stuffer today....and it's..... A TICKET HOME!!. I can't wait to see his face when he looks in his stocking. I can't decide though if I should put it in there or if I should get a bunch of different size boxes and put in all kinds of random presents in the smaller boxes, like a framed picture of his family, socks, etc. and then have one REALLY huge box that just has a plane ticket in it.....what do you think? I got it for 3 weeks from Feb 13 - March 7th and it was a really good price - Minneapolis - Marrakech $550. I'm so giddy!

Yea $550 was roundtrip - i was shocked. I've never paid less that 700-750 so it was a good buy.

Noura, you wouldnt believe this but my egyptian friend here (the one that sells belly dance costumes and a lot of imported Egyptian stuff) said something to me about selling me her business . . . she's thinking of moving back to egypt, lol!!! I don't think I make a good business person so I told her "No, i don't have the money" (and I don't). But who knows . . . I've always thought about a coffeehouse/restaurant . . . I do like cooking, hehe!!

I wish I was on the Dr. Phil show today . . . everyone in the audience is getting all kinds of stuff for xmas because they are having celebrity guests . . . so far I see free computer, free CD player from Sharper Imaget, also tickets to dancing with the Stars touring show . . . and more . . . I had to leave the room!! LOL, I want something good for free, . . . I never win anything either .
