Hi! Here is an advance welcome to Long Island, New York! I am not from Philippines however my husband to be is from Marikina, his interview feb 8th. Anyway, I grew up on Long Island so if your interested I can show you around, I work with several people that came from Philippines. There is a Philippine "section" in Queens, New York, in the city of Woodside, Pinoy stores, restaurants, etc etc . My friend who is from Davao(she has been here 20 years now) belongs to a group that has dance lessons on Sat nights they welcome everyone you can come along with us and bring your hubby lots of Filipino/fil-am couples and others from asia and united states . They had a birthday party a few weeks ago had a great lechon, pancit , wine, some chinese food etc. Low key and lots of fun!
Let me know if you need anything, or want to get together. Long Island can get lonely cause most people tend to keep to themselves here. summer is great lots of fun places to see , keep in touch!Good luck and welcom! Margarita
