Hi everyone,

My fiance had his med exam done last week. he was very nevous about it and after reading some stories in VJ he was not looking forward to it. Well Just want to let everyone know that he said it was a peice of cake!!! The nurses and Dr.'s were very very nice, he didn't have his records of immunization but that was not a problem...He had 2 shots, took some blood and exrays and it was over/ He got there an hour early and they took him in right away and he was out of there in 1.5 hours. So for those of you waiting and worrying...Don't.....It is not a scary process at all......

smile.gif I'm glad he had such a great experience. I wouldn't say the medical was SCARY.. just was unsettling for me anyway. I wasn't aware of how "indepth" it would be for a female (breast exam, check down under, poking here there and everywhere). In my case I had the Dr. oohing and ahhing over my tattoo for 10 min (picture this, I'm standing buck naked, my tattoo is on my back, he's behind me with a ruler measuring the length of my tattoo, saying "oooh it's 4 inches by 2 inches!!"). I'm not used to a "medical" of that magnitude. For my Class 4 licence, I only did eye test, reflex etc. etc. EEK!! I just needed more information, I think. Good to hear someone had an easy exam!

And how unsettled your fiance was when he heard that the Dr. didn't possess the common decency to offer you a simple gown....sheesh..talk about crappy bedside manner...no excuse for being treated like a specimen.

I had the same "fear".. i dunno.. it's just one of those things.. What if.. But.. all you can do is roll up your sleeve, smile and enjoy! The Dr. told me that he would call me if there was anything wonky withy my chest x-ray or my blood work before he sent out the medical package. I would just ask if the Dr. you see could offer that comfort - just so you know what's in the package.

AND.. funny story at the hospital... when i got my copies of my x-rays, a technition came down the hall holding up the envelope calling my name. Very funny indeed.. I guess anyone could have claimed them!! Now to take the HUGE envelope with me to Montreal sad.gif
