I've heard about reputations about men from every place in Morocco, from my fiance and other Moroccans I've met. Men from Rabat are liars, people from Casablanca are thieves, Marrakech guys will kill their best friend over a girl, and also some other ones that aren't really appropriate for a public forum! Anyway, it doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

It *is* rumoured that Taza has several cyber cafes boasting signs of how many online marriage hookups they've had!I don't know about signs boasting of it . . . but I know that in Egypt . . . Luxor, Sharm el Sheik, Hurghada (big tourist spots) along with Cairo have many cyber cafes . . . with many of the men chatting with women in foreign countries. From ppl I know in Luxor, they say that one man can be chatting with multiple "girl friends"/"wives" at one time . . . and he might have an audience of his friends hanging around to watch the action.
So, yes, I think it happens in more places that Taza!

I think it is interesting to hear the stereotyping by city. Like you have said, doesn't mean it's true. Everyone seems to talk about people from other cities. Before I met Omar, I was chatting with some other people on the french website from various parts of Morocco and they all had something to say about men from 'other cities'. Even before I left for Morocco, my cousin 'warned me' about men from Oujda!! yeah that was accurate all right. And the people in Oujda talk about the people in Casa something fierce. But, we have found the good men in all the cities thankfully.

Kansas is about the flattest most boring place on God's earth! In Colorado, all you have to do is start a sentence with "I drove through Kansas . . ." and EVERYONE knows what's coming next. I drove through Kansas three years ago with one of my kids and the main subject of conversation was "OMG! WHEN THE HELL IS THIS STATE GOING TO END?!!!!". I've droven across the whole continent more than once, but I will never drive through Kansas again. It's like Groundhog Day!
