Thank you all for making this website so helpful and supportive. I have learned a lot from this site but this is my first post.

My fiance in Cuba finally picked up his information packet and I filled out the form on in Interest Section website to schedule the interview appointment. I just received an email with this response:

"Lamentablemente en estos momentos no contamos con turnos disponibles
para programarle su entrevista. En cuanto tengamos disponibilidades le
programaremos su cita para la fecha mas cercana y se lo comunicaremos.

Saludos,
Unidad de Informacion
Seccion de Intereses de los Estados Unidos
La Habana, Cuba"

Brief translation: We're sorry that at this time there are no no appointments available to schedule your interview. When an appointment becomes available we'll schedule it for the first available date and will let you know.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening there before? I'm afraid to think about how long this could take. I'm so disappointed and also worried about what could happen in Cuba that could keep us apart. Any advice???

Thanks!

Most consulates/embassies cannot issue immediate interviews. I know for the consulate we processed thru a K1 can take up to three months to get an interview once paperwork is submitted. CR1s can take 6 months or longer. Do not be discouraged and ask for the next available appointment. Good luck.
