Hi,

I just started with my visa journey - (K3 spouse). It may be long and tedious however, understanding it all may make it bareable! Here is my question. I am Canadian and have lived however in the US for a few years and moved back to Canada about two years ago.

I understand that there will be a request for a police certificate/report on an applicant in your package 3. Knowing that I have to get a police certificate from every country I have lived since the age of 16, will it include the US itself?

I may have answered my own question, however I have read a thread on another webiste that claims you do not need a police certificate from the US itself.... This part confuses me. Has any of you been through anything like this?

Thanks for your reply in advance!

The FBI will take care of the background check for any time spend in the U.S. You will need to provide the embassy with police clearances from any countries where you lived longer than six months. Good luck

the U.S. doesn't give out police certs to ForN's (foreign nationals) because the U.S. embassy can do the investigating on their own when they get the case.
