My husband and I decided to go the K3 route since both apps were approved the same day (I-129F and I-130), but I wonder when we should resume the process? I though maybe to start it as soon as we get the appointment to speed things along and have him interview here, but I'm wondering if this is possible? The reason I ask is because my approval letter says I can choose to have the interview in the home country or here....

OskaryAndrea,

Present USCIS policy is to send the approved I-129f petition to the DoS to prepare for a K3 visa application and retain the approved I-130 to be ready for adjustment of status after the K3 visa has been issued and the alien has entered the USA.

If the alien will want to return to their country for an immigrant visa after having come to the USA on the K visa, rather than adjust status in the USA, then the petitioner must specifically request that the I-130 be sent to the DoS using form I-824.

Yodrak....thank you for the clarification...what I'm understanding is that once my husband enters the US with the K3 visa, he has the option to return to Colombia for an IR interview OR apply for AOS... Right?
