Here!!! Three Dog Night!!

If Jenn shows up we would have our own Three Dog night...until then I guess we are just Simon and Garfunkle laughing.gif

Hahaha, it will be too late. I am just taking a break from "The Biggest Loser" . . . so boring and I know it should be inspiring, but it isn't. I am now off to watch "Medium" . . . so I will leave ME/NA in your capable hands. good.gif

You can now be Bob Dylan . . . Riding on the City of New Orleans!!
Jenn!
Heartburn, nausea, indigestion. Upset stomach, diarrhea....

Don't you just love that song?!?!?

Arlo Guthrie was the performer on the famous version, I think.

But it was written by someone else. The lyrics are quite amazing.....

OK do I have the wrong "City of New Orleans" in mind ???? unsure.gif I'm a spazz sometimes so maybe I am thinking of completely the wrong song.

This is the one I am talking about:

QUOTE
The City of New Orleans
by Steve Goodman

Riding on the City of New Orleans,
Illinois Central Monday morning rail
Fifteen cars and fifteen restless riders,
Three conductors and twenty-five sacks of mail.
All along the southbound odyssey
The train pulls out at Kankakee
Rolls along past houses, farms and fields.
Passin' trains that have no names,
Freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobiles.

CHORUS:
Good morning America how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

Dealin' card games with the old men in the club car.
Penny a point ain't no one keepin' score.
Pass the paper bag that holds the bottle
Feel the wheels rumblin' 'neath the floor.
And the sons of pullman porters
And the sons of engineers
Ride their father's magic carpets made of steel.
Mothers with their babes asleep,
Are rockin' to the gentle beat
And the rhythm of the rails is all they feel.

CHORUS

Nighttime on The City of New Orleans,
Changing cars in Memphis, Tennessee.
Half way home, we'll be there by morning
Through the Mississippi darkness
Rolling down to the sea.
And all the towns and people seem
To fade into a bad dream
And the steel rails still ain't heard the news.
The conductor sings his song again,
The passengers will please refrain
This train's got the disappearing railroad blues.

Good night, America, how are you?
Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

cbd2cai mentioned City of New Orleans which is what you were thinking of and I was commenting that My Back Pages (the song not me) was a song written by Bob Dyan.

OK, sorry, my fault for inadvertently linking Bob Dylan and The City of New Orleans . . . . I was singing the Arlo version in my head . . . but thinking about lonesome old Bob Dylan riding a train called The City of New Orleans . . . don't ask me why that was what popped out of my head. Sorry for having weird random thoughts . . . it won't happen again unsure.gif tongue.gif laughing.gif yes.gif on the other hand . . . I am sure it will . . . I have a peculiar knack for connecting the strangest things!! Just how my brain is wired . . .

On the other hand, maybe I should have continued watching "The Biggest Loser" instead of wandering upstairs to check VJ . . . I don't want to be the instigator of a 25 page train-wreck . . . even if it is The City of New Orleans!! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Hahahahhahaaaaa now I have this image in my mind of Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie, both with their acoustic guitars and harmonicas, trying to out-cuss each other in the most unique and weirdest nasal voices, running on top of the rail cars and wrestling for control of the City of New Orleans.... and the train finally goes careening off the rails and now there's blood on the tracks somewhere near Alice's Restaurant laughing.gif
