I'll let you know if that works. So far, if I click on a name that has been added to my list, their profile says "Remove friend", and gives me no option to add myself to their list.
Thx!

szsz, if you already have them on your list, the only option left is to remove them, which is why that's all that's listed when you visit their profile. If you want to be on their list (your above post) then only they can add you. (just like you are the only one that can add people to your own list)

So, it's the battle of who adds first!

Odd, because this morning I could add people who had already added me. I had three mutual friends before 10 am and we each added ourselves to each others lists.
??????????????????????

Dec 7 2006, 01:22 AM
Hmmm yeah..if that's your question then I dunno...Mr. Cap'n will have to help you out! I read the question above differently...

but...if you can't add people to *your* list that have, themselves, added you to *theirs* then something IS up with that...strange! If they're already on your list, they should be able to add you to theirs, or vice versa...hope you get it fixed soon! M.

You can add people to your list. That does not add you to theirs. They have to add you as a friend and then you will be on their list. If you look at the friend tool you can see people that are mutual friends (you both have each other as friends). In the friends config you can set it up to require people to get your permission to add you as a friend (you can accept or reject). That is the only twist.

People can add themselves to another person's list. After that, you can't add yourself to their list without sending them an email asking them to add you. So, if you add yourself to their list first, they can't add you the same way. You have to ask them to add you to their list. Seems a bit weird that it's one way like that.
Well, I sent messages to everyone who added themselves to my list asking for them to add me to theirs. I guess that will fix it.
Thx!

THey did not add themselves to your list. I ran a scipt that added people based on old preferences. That may be the confusion.

Well, I added you!

Check out the settings in your profile. I think that will help explain a lot. You can choose different privacy and notification levels.

If someone has actually added you themselves, and you have notification enabled, you'll get an email or a board message when they add you to their list. If it was because of the script, then you won't be notified.
The people I had as "buddies" on the old version of the board I had already added manually to this version before Ewok ran the update script; so if anyone is on my friends list, I actually added them. Those people should feel special. ROFL!

people can add you as friends....but you have an option under your profile to set how you want to have people add you as friends...
go under settings in your profile.... and go down to moderation options....
either click on "allow addition without approval" or "only add with approval"
ok im a lil lost. how do we see signatures now? i have them turned off on the forum, but if i want to see how their case is progressing, i used to click on their profile to see it... um... where did that go?

I found something that is somewhat annoing. When you make a post and you want to use a font, size and color all at once it adds the [/] for each feature when you click on it. So if you use all three you get something like this: . You have to move things around when you start to type and it makes it confusing.

Every time I try to reply to a post, I get booted out of explorer. Yesterday I couldn't post at all! Every time I got a new screen, I was back to being a guest again. I cleared my cookies and did the ctrl-F5 thing but nothing helps. I haven't changed anything on my computer and this only happened after the changes. Please advise, it's getting really frustrating to be an outcast for no apparent reason!!!!

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.
The error returned was:
Incorrect use of one of the board files

The 'old' board used to let you see folks' siggys by viewing their profile, but I'm not seeing that on this version. Or am I missing something?
Its much easier to sneak and post at work when I can hide some of those flashy signatures

but I like to see them from time to time (esp. ones who have their 'touches' recorded in there).

You need to purge your browser cache and temp files. Do a hard refresh after that (CTRL-F5) aftre reloading browser.

I am wondering if it is related to the new conversion, but when I leave the site and return, I have to log in again, yet I have the box "remember me" toggled. Is there a problem with my system or is this something that needs to be resolved?
