DS 156 question 18 and 19
I divorced, should I fill out question 18 with my ex-husband's name? How about 19, should I fill out ex-husband's DOB? Thanks.

I guess you put in your ex-husband's info... are you going for a K1? The instructions say "even if divorced or separated"

I was in the same situation...yes, you have to put your ex's name and DOB in response to those questions.

Thanks. By the way, we have to sign DS 156 but 156 K. 156K must be sign in front of consular. I heard the we don't have to fill out DS230 part II, am I right?

Funny "Ha Ha" that you have to fill out that info on your ex. I had a hard time coming up with his birth date. It's been over 6 years for me.. But I guess they must do some snooping on ex's too?? The 156K you can fill out the 1st half of the form, but the bottom half needs to be signed at the consulate in front of an officer.

DS230 Part II does not apply to CDN applicants of K-1 so i'm told YEAH!! Finally a piece of paperwork we DON'T have to fill out. Too bad NAFTA didn't help us out.. we should be able to trade freely spouses n'est pas?

Part II applies to all, the timing is different, some consulates require it returned along with part I, others like Canada want it brought to the interview with other paperwork, they make no distinction as to which visa type, any with immigration intent requires it.

Respectfully I'd have to disagree.. It's not included in Package III from Montreal, and I know we enquired as to why it wasn't, so unless they give it to you at the consulate and make you fill it out on the spot, it's not required from MTL. Anyone else get Part II?

Just curious where you found that information. I needed Part II for the CR-1 but it definitely wasn't required for K-3.

I think YuAndDan made his own point where he said "any with immigration intent". As we all know, K1 and K3 do not have immigrant intent, they are nonimmigrant

I filled out Part II, brought it to the interview, asked if it was needed....no. It's for immigration visas the official told me.

Why put "Part II applies to all... "...and "they make no distinction as to which visa type..." if the only visa you're refering to is IR-1 / CR1, in a thread initiated by someone doing a K-3 through Vancouver?

I think he has a habit of skim-reading... although over the last few days I've made some stupid mistakes! lol, literally my brain is exhausted from studying
