I need a US Passport very soon from the date of my Oath Ceremony.

I understand the normal process would take a 4-6 week period of time for me getting a US passport (i need it within 10 days)

and we dont have a US Govt passport agency in our city.

I did a google search and found many third party firms/non-government US passport services offering that they would secure US passports in as little as 24 hours!!.

My question, has anyone used services as such..?

I did not use one of those services, I DID, however, use the expedited service offered by the Government and had my passport in less than a week. The expedited application states that you'll have your passport in 2 weeks or less. Costs a bit extra, but was well worth it. I don't think you need to spend anymore than what the standard expedited passport costs - I wouldn't waste my money on those services.

I went to the post office. Most post offices process these apps and know exactly how to help you. (you can go to the USPS website for a li8st of offices that process the applications) When you go to the post office with your application, tell them you want it expedited. They will charge you the typical passport fee, the extra fee plus you have to pay to overnight the application to the processing center and pay for them to overnight it back to you. The processor at the post office will put a special sticker on the outside of the envelope indicating that its an expedited app.

I think in all it cost me something like $196. Check this link for more info:

Good luck and congrats on your impending citizenship!

Visit your friendly neighborhood US Post office, they can do the passport application, photo, fee, and mail it off for your right in the office.

Please check before you go to make sure that they offer the services yuanddan mentioned - some don't process passport applications at all, some do process apps, but don't have the passport photo service.
