To all fellow VJrs, The expiration date of our K1 visa petition is on Jan 10, 2007 base of our NOA2, until now we havent received interview schedule yet! My question is... if the embassy give an appointment for interiew this month ( february hopefully) Does my fiance need to contact the embassy and request to extend the approval for another 4 months? Your comments will be highly appreciated!

The embassy in Manila Philippines tends to automatically extend all petitions because they take so long to process all cases. You could contact the embassy to give them a friendly reminder to extend the petition.

There is a form letter in the example forms here on VJ that you can use for that.

ours was automatically extended would have expired before interview date. If you haven't received interview date, then might want to contact Embassy to be safe. If interview has been scheduled, they will automatically extend the NOA2. Next batch of interviews will be released after Dec 15th. by your timeline, a Feb interview date looks pretty good.
